FOOTBALL: The Harvey Bulls have recently claimed their fourth coach in the last five years, installing former Waroona Demons Coach Paul Pannell as the new League head coach.
Former coach John Baggetta decided he would not continue coaching the Bulls in 2013 after a disappointing 2012 season
Pannell will be the fourth coach in the last five years for Harvey with Tony Dagastino and Ned Fimmano preceding Baggetta.
It is understood that Pannell will sign a deal to stay at the Bulls for three years.
Pannell is an experienced coach and is well spoken of by other Harvey committee members.
“He’s just a genuine good bloke; I think he’ll be really good for the club,” Bulls general manager Rocco Fedele said.
Pannell spent 2004 and 2005 coaching the Peel Thunder Colts in the WAFL before elevating to the role of League Assistant Coach for three years.
Pannell then spent the next three years coaching Waroona in the Peel League which all ended as premiership years for the Demons.
Pannell then spent 2012 coaching the State Country side for WA.
Pannell claims that next year he would like the Bulls to be nudging into the top five, but also states that miracles do not happen overnight.
“I think the next year will be mainly about building a good solid basis, and creating a positive atmosphere at the club – I think the Bulls just want to earn some respect,” Pannell said.
Bulls’ fans will be looking forward to see what Pannell can bring after a disappointing end to last year.
