My reading - informing the WAAFL that you have breached the rules a number of times gets you a lighter sentence than someone who breeches the rules and continues to deny it, despite being presented with evidence that they have breeched the rules.

Interesting read this whole topic!

Also very interesting that a week before all this comes out that close to half of Norandas senior squad submit clearances to another club.
Was the writing on the wall with club being caught out for paying players or were the committee aware of the whispers all year that a previous coach was getting a job at another club and they needed a way of remaining competitve in the grade they would be playing in 2018.
What better way than admitting all of this. Very bery suss imo.

Anyone know the player/players involved with this?
Surely the coach and president are held accountable aswell as there would be know way that the coach would be unaware as a minimum.

We should change the name of this rule to now be called "The Sir Joh Beilke Peterson Rule"

Do what you like, fuck it all up, and say sorry and everything seems to be ok

The transfers from Noranda to SV are a group of mates, most of whom were ressies and thirds. I would say that having previously worked with the coach and the promise of league football with their mates got them there.

Birdman - nailed it.

They have admitted fault when asked, cooperated with the WAAFL during investigation and accepted the penalty.

does anyone know when the investigation actually started into Noranda

If they were open and honest wouldn't they admit to the fault at the time the investigation was launched? or did they deny it during the season and finally admit to it after more evidence.

They admitted to offering player payments and inducements throughout the 2017 season so assuming there investigation has been ongoing for some time now?

Hi all. I’ll start by saying I have no vested interest in cockburn or Noranda. But seems that cockburn got done for the intent of paying a player that didn’t eventuate. Noranda got done after admitting to incentives to players. The lesser one in cockburn loose a chance at a flag and effectively play next season for nothing. Noranda cop a pissy fine and play a grade below and with what they hope much of the same playing group can have a massive shot at a flag. Seems uneven to me and if I was cockburn I’d be seeking legal advice as to my options.

If you see the clearance list, Noranda have lost a shitload of players so their depth of playing group is more than likely going to drop, though you would still expect finals from them in C2 nonetheless.

Birdman i assume your talking about us (cobras) in regards to being presented with evidence and continuing to deny it through out the investigation?

My response is if there was so called evidence then why would the integrity committee overturn and uphold the clubs appeal.

The only bit of "evidence" came 4 months after and on the eve of prelim finals. Where was this evidence throughout the investigation?

The club submitted 5 stat decs to the WAAFL's 1

The club cooperated fully through out the investigation including meetings and hearings that were attended by the club officials.

Ratlife... are you saying your punishments have been reversed ?? Usually smoke equals fire and unfortunately most people these days don’t take stat decs seriously. If you guys have been cleared then that’s great.

It’s time for the integrity department to focus on the top 2 grades. One top club has some members of its own committee begging them to stop the expenditure and address a debt of over $30k yet the hierarchy are only interested in the purchase of more silverware. If the league isn’t prepared to attack these clubs who are clearly spending more money than most country league clubs, then just removed the A for amateur and declare open clayher. As that’s what we all know is happening anyway... even clubs who historically tried to do the right thing have already signed some ex wafl players for next year who are turning down reasonably good offers from the country... more smoke.. more fire.

Tigerpoint:
The ammos have a whistle blower policy you should hit them up with your information and get some of these club survey looked at.

Unfortunately though, I was at a waafl meeting a few years back and a certain president of a waafl club who pays players stood up and spoke about the new integrity committee/movement and how it would be great for the comp. that particular club is still in A/B grade and still spending big $$$

This is why the A/B grade clubs don’t get caught because their committees/people involved in these clubs
have involvement in or some connection with the waafl. They are too smart.

Lower grade clubs have revolving committees and lack continuity in them which in turn means that holes are found in finances of clubs/errors being made
