Looks like a good round of football this past weeekend. MrM would like toilet everyone know in AFL Tipping he got 9/9 and thus received a free whopper (give me a pat on the back).
Back to some WAAFL action. North Freo too good for Willetton, Bullcreek upset Hamersley, Scarborough ran over the top of Wanneroo, Wembley got the job done against Kelmscott and Maddington had the upset of the round.

MrM arrived early down at "The Mill" and it was freezing. MrM had to stand in the sun for 20 minutes so I could defrost. Our Colts weren't phased by the fresh air though as they came out firing. Having been written off by the young Scarborough boys, Wanneroo came out and played some good attacking football. An early scuffle between a few players got everyone excited and warmed up a bit. Scores were level at quarter time but Wanneroo failed to score in the second quarter and it was a low scoring affair. Wanneroo did hit the lead in the 3rd quarter and were looking good, but Scarborough managed to pinch a win in the end and win by a few kicks. The colts team can keep improving and with several players only 17 years of age they will only get better.

Our Reserves were still apparently frozen from the cold breeze as they didn't kick a goal till the 3rd quarter. A lot of outs for the reserves team but that doesn't mean anything as it's 18 v 18 on the field. I'm sure they will bounce back next week.

MrM finally mustered the energy, after standing in the sun and warming up, to walk up the hill and see what the canteen at Scarborough had to offer MrM. Well I was not let down. The chips were freshly cooked and I didn't have to apply my own salt in a nice twist. I also ordered a hamburger in which you had to build your own. MrM liked this nice touch. Overall I'll give then canteen 8/10. MrM did get a hamburger that said no onions but it had onions in it. So a little false advertising but I do enjoy my onions so I wasn't to harsh.

It was time for our league game and Scarborough got the early jump on Wanneroo kicking 6 goals to 2 in the first quarter. MrM suggests a few players from Scarborough visit the barber shop during the week and get a trim. If you're wearing a headband whilst playing then you need to look at yourself. Wanneroo came back in the second quarter kicking hard earned goals. Scarborough are a well drilled team though and made Wanneroo pay when they turned over the football. Going into half time I thought Wanneroo would be sure to come out firing in the second half.
They did kicking 4 goals to 2 in the premiership quarter. A few Scarborough players were up and about throwing their weight around and Wanneroo looked like they were up to the task. Heading into the last quarter that cold chill was back and MrM was hoping that a fiery last quarter would warm him up. It started when Scarborough were gifted a goal thanks to a soft free kick and 50 meter penalty and they never looked back. A funny moment of the last quarter was when a Scarborough flew into a contest to try and wipe out a Wanneroo player only to come off second best himself and left the ground with an injury. Must have been hit by a big karma bus. In the end Scarborough were to good overall and better on the day and I'm sure they will keep building as they look towards getting a home final finishing forts or second.
Wanneroo have lost the last 5 now and need to worked very hard in the last 7 games to keep the hopes of finals alive.

MrM went into the Scarborough rooms for a drink or two and was greeted with a free beer which is always pleasant. Upon MrM's departure he was stopped by 2 gentlemen who queried as to whether they had found MrM, they had indeed. Regular readers of this section they were my biggest fans, they even asked if I had found a MrsM yet. Always good to bump into some fans. Hopefully I can come across some more in my journeys for the rest of the season.

Reversekanga, collegians had 5 regular 22 playing as we have a number of injuries and a huge chunk of the team are travelling around europe over next month and half. We don't have the strongest ressies team so replacements are hard to come by. was always going to be a long day and it could be a long month and half.
