Well, well, well. What an interesting weekend of C2. Bit of controversy and all of a sudden there are new people all over the site from various clubs putting their 2c worth in.

Great to see the Canning guys make the GF and ensure promotion after a couple of seasons of being close. Regardless of the other thread, I would love to hear a write up from this game. The juggernaut of Quinns has taken a hit - could be a good thing...? Better lose that game than the GF!

Again, regardless of the other thread, I would love to hear a write up on the Mossie/Basso game as well. Mosman Park with the win ensuring they play off in the final this week against Quinns.

Quinns at least are ensured of one Grand Final with their Reserves side winning what looks like a comfortable game against Canning.

Warnbro have bounced back to beat the Valley in what I am sure was a cracking game of footy with both sides not having another side in the Finals.

Bassendean still have their Colts alive after a good win against Quinns. Seeing Quinns in action last week, I am not surprised by this result. I also believe that Yarran has been qualified in the Colts which sets up a mouth watering match up next week vs Swan View.

Finally, my boys - the Cougar Cubs had a good win against the Minor Premiers, Swan View. In blustery conditions and what was really a scrappy, poor skilled game of footy out at Swan View. The first quarter was an arm wrestle with the Viewers taking a 4.3 - 2.1 lead at the first change. The second term saw the Cougars with the wind and after another cracking 20-minutes, the scoreline showed a slender 4-point lead to the Cubs (5.7 - 6.5). Knowing that the Viewers had the wind in the all important premiership quarter, our Coach maintained to the boys that they had to want the ball more and would have to fight harder than the Viewers.... and they did, taking a 6.9 - 8.5 lead into the final term. The final term saw the Cubs play some good footy to win by 28-points. At not time was the game comfortable for either side. Old Mate Kermit was relatively quiet as the runner, only piping up once at our supporters - which was a shame, because I was wanting a show seeing as I had drove an hour to get there. Interestingly, MadDog wrote on the C4 thread that the Viewers didn't play their best team...? Seems strange to not play your best team in a game which can win you a Grand Final berth.

3-Grand Finals in 3-years for us - a fantastic result. Here's to hoping the Cubs can bring home a third flag to boot.
Loves kicking goals, passing them off is only an option.

Warnbro Vs Valley

Great game of footy this ruined by some really inept umpiring. Blokes just blatantly throwing the ball out was classed as a handpass all day and just sh!t umpiring in my view.

ANYWAY - Warnbro started with the wind and out on the river it was a big fkn wind blowing across and to one end of the ground. Literally the ball would swing from the point post to the far goal post on some occasions. Warnbro dominated play but only managed 2.3 to 0.2 points at qtr time.

2nd qtr and Valley reversed the first quarter. Had all the play but again the wind wreaked havoc on easy scoring shots but went in to the half one goal up 4.3 to 3.3.

3rd quarter and this is where Valley did all the hard work and kicked 2 or 3 in to the wind and only allowed Warnbro to kick one extra goal than Valley to put Valley up by 2 points at 3/4 time. Number 62 who killed our league team in round 1 had barely touched the ball and a nice little scuffle saw a yellow to each team. Rather humerous when a bloke in the crowd was dishing out abuse from the Balcony but when advised by the Valley faithful to go down and get a bit closer to the bloke he didn't want a bar of it haha ... The guy who get sent off for Valley is a big fkn unit!

Anyway premiership quarter done and Valley only had to ride the wind home to seal up the wind but Warnbro wanted it more. They kicked a couple quick goals early and some poor decision making by our boys couldn't get a score on the board. With 5 to go it was about 10 points the difference when Valley finally kicked a goal to be 4 points down. The ball came out to the grandstand side and a great shepherd saw the Valley take control and the forward line had pushed hard to make it a 4-1 inside 50 and probably would have won the game but the ump paid a free kick off the ball. Not sure anyone saw it but must have been there although our player swears black and blue he didn't make any high contact as suggested by the umpire.

Warnbro took it foward and held on by 4 points. Banter was great between the 2 parties sitting side by side upstairs and plent of laughs. The players from both teams gave it their all and Warnbro came up trumps. Umpires certainly ruined it with some sh!tty decisions all day to both teams.
