Last weeks’ results had both the home teams coming away with a win. The doggies did what they needed to against The Dockers and The River showed The Jets “this is how good you need to be to think about playing finals”.

In the reserves grade, Swan View had more composure than Secret Harbour in the final quarter to get the win and Wembley made sure Osborne Park’s dreams of making a finals impact from 5th were short lived.

This weeks’ games;

At Brown Park;
League; Swan View vs. Brentwood Booragoon

Round 15 was the last time they both met at Brown Park, and the View had a 2 point win after trailing most of the day. The View have a perfect record at home this year, and wouldn’t want to give it up. The Bulldogs have had 2 hard battles with Secret Harbour over the last two weeks and can expect another hard battle this week. The carrot dangling of a Grand Final appearance and promotion back up the grades is something both teams will throw everything at for, hopefully for the loser they don’t spend all their energy this week and have nothing left in the prelim. Brentwood will be seeking the revenge for letting the last game against the View slip away, and I think that is what will get them over the line by 14 points.

Reserves: Trinity Aquinas vs. Swan View

Trinity have been the bench mark of reserves all season. I’m sure they would be annoyed to have to play at Swan Views home, but that is the reason you need to be competitive in both grades to get the advantages in reserves. Swan View took care of the Harbour last week away from home and now are looking at qualify for a grand final berth. Trinity will more than likely have a fair few to choose from so I think we are going to see their most competitive side for the season, which is a scary thought. Since Trinity have been the top reserves club all season and with the whole club having plenty of success in recent years there will be plenty of players that know what finals footy is about. Given that it’s hard not to back them so I think Trinity will get up by 3 goals.

At Rhonda Scarrott Reserve;
League; Secret Harbour vs. Southern River

Secret Harbour were neck and neck against the Bulldogs until half time, then got left behind from there. Maybe the 2 consecutive hard battles were starting to take their toll. They are back at home now, which we have seen they are a lot stronger. The River looked like they had a training session against Jandakot, and the easy game will either make them complacent or give themselves a lot of belief that they can go far this season. I have a problem with tipping Southern River, since every time I have they choke, but I guess I can back them once more and if they choke again I won’t have to back them next week! Southern River to get up by the narrowest of margins!

Reserves; Secret Harbour vs. Wembley
Secret Harbour reserves will be disappointed with last week and now they are in the do or die situation against Wembley. Luckily for the Secrets this week they will have the full colt’s squad to choose from which will bolster their stocks. Wembley looks to have a comfortable win last week and will also have plenty of players to choose. Flipping the coins says Secret Harbour will get up at home, but it will be very close and could go either way.

Good luck to all the teams!

Watch out for Jake the peg mate!

Big round! I reckon SV will take out the league by 4 goals. Reckon they'll be too physical.

SV vs TA's should be a ripper. Having the week off may work against TA's. But I'll go with TA's by 1 point.

SH vs SR should be a good game too. I don't want to pick them but you can't go past secrets at their shithole. 5 points

Wembley should shit it in over Secret. Wembley by 5 goals.

Not much chat this week! Was thinking I'd log on after a busy week to find plenty of opinion for this weeks games but as has been the norm this year when certain teams lose a few go missing. DB and Swampland must still be in a ditch following mad Monday.
So tomorrow brings 3 2nd semis to Brown Park and all 3 should be cracking games.

Our colts boys have been the best team all year only losing 2 games. 1 by a goal and the other by 3 points. The latter was to tomorrow's opponent in Canning Vale where the lads clearly got ahead of themselves. Most of the victories were by 10-20 goals. Thier attitude and training in the past fortnight has been the best it's been all year and finally we have an occasion where the boys know they have to prepare well. That could spell danger for the Canning Vale lads. Ill tip our boys by 3-4 goals but by more if its dry.

The Ressies are primed. I'd be very surprised if they got blown away with the team they have on the park tomora but they'd definitely be better suited with a fine day. Not to worry,they've done an amazing job so far this year and are the reason our league team are playing for promotion tomora. They'll get up in a close one.

And on to the League. Last week gave us the chance to freshn up beutifully. I definitely felt better physically and mentally for not playing a game,hopefully we see the rewards of that.
Brentwood are a good side and definitely have our respect. I can't see this being a blow out either way,especially with some wet and blustery conditions expected. In the 2 games this year 7 of the 8 quarters have been very tight. We haven't lost at home this season and don't intend on letting that change tomorrow. We will get up by 3-4 goals

The other games I reckon will be blowouts. Southern River will win by 6+ goals if they have the same team as the last 2 weeks and Wembley will do The Harbour by 10+ in the Ressies.

Yep tough day for us but it wasn't really a big surprise. We came up against 3 very good teams and none of our teams played very good footy.
The colts result was probably the most disappointing in terms of performance as when the heat went on the lads didn't show much fight. I think there will be a few changes this week and the best team will be picked.
The Ressies did quite a good job IMO. After a 4 goal to zip 1st qtr it could've quite easily been a blowout but our guys got better as the game went on and won the last qtr. What it told me is that TA's can be beaten if we play that little bit smarter. Their old,fat,balding blokes definitely weren't getting any quicker towards the end.
Having the loss is probably a blessing in disguise for our boys too,another week where they all have to train to play will definitely help.
Just quietly,if anyone knows the TA's water boy can you ask him what he was thinking early in the game. I didn't see it but he's pretty lucky he got to forfull his role for the rest of the day.
The League was disappointing because we didn't gain promotion but we have another chance to do that this week. Well done to Brentwood who played very well. We were dominated early and couldn't get our hands on the footy. Like the Ressies we could've got blown away but we kept at it and playing this week will definitely be good for us. We've had a lot of guys not play much recently for varied reasons and if we can get through to the Grandy we will be a lot better prepared.
Pretty sure all 3 games will be at Brown Park again so that will help.
