In last week’s games all home teams won and did enough to mean the ladder positions didn’t change at all going into the finals. With half the tippers tipping, they all got 3. Everyone else got zero for zero effort. I’m fine to keep the tipping into the finals and to get a couple more games I’ll add in the reserves games too. Don’t care whether we to continue the tally on or start again for the finals series, punters call. With the usual contributors all in clubs playing finals, hopefully there are no media bans on players and the banter will continue!
To end out the normal season, here's the tipping ladder! Well done FL87, made the break from Mad Dog a couple of weeks back and has maintained it.
1. FL87 - 3 - 64
2. Maddog - 3 - 61
3. RJ - 3 - 58
4. BD 1980 - 0 - 56
5. Screech - 0 - 49
6. Footblr - 0 - 47
Now onto the games!!
Saturday’s forecast is maximum 23 degrees and 70% chance of a late shower. Winds are North at 15km/h turning West South West and increasing to 22km/h.
League;
Brentwood Booragoon vs. Secret Harbour @ Karoonda Park
Record; 1 – 1, BB by 10 Rd 9, SH by 6 Rd 18
They played last week in a bruising battle and both games have been decided by under two goals. Secret Harbour has not won any away games against the top 5 this season and Brentwood have only dropped one against the top 5 at home. No doubt there will be a few boys from the View hanging around after the ressies match to see the result, will be interesting to see who they will be cheering on to face next week. My tip is Brentwood by 31 points.
Southern River vs. Jandakot @ Sutherlands Park
Record; 1 – 1, SR by 1 Rd 2, JJ by 30 Rd 11
Final chance for them and Jandakot have the won their last battle at Sutherlands. I don’t think this stat will have any bearing on the match since Southern River were going through a slight form slump at the time. Southern River had a 4 goal win against the ladder leaders but the weeks preceding that they were all over the place. Is one good game in the last round enough to steady the ship for a solid finals campaign? This game will be decided by less than a kick in overtime and Jandakot will be ahead at the end.
Reserves;
Swan View vs. Secret Harbour @ Karoonda Park
Record; 1 – 1, SH by 2 Rd 8, SV by 54 Rd 17
Playing both of these teams at Karoonda in the first half of the year, the Harbour looked like they had more skill there, although in reserves the ins and results from rounds 6 and 9 count for very little. Seeing that Secrets league team last week finished with no bench it will be interesting to see if their best players get to call up and who take their spots. Both teams have steadily won the games they had to and are definitely both better at their own paddock so it will be interesting to see how the neutral ground goes. Swan View to win by 2 goals
Wembley vs. Osborne Park @ Sutherlands Park
Record; 1 – 1, W by 48 Rd 1, OP by 23 Rd 10
Wembley went AWOL from the competition a few weeks ago due to injuries in the higher grades but have still held on to 4th place by 0.36%. Wembley should have a full squad with their 3rds and colts not seeing finals action. Osborne Park started the season poorly although since round 8 have been in fine form. Again they should have the services of the fringe league players to bolster their stocks. Osborne Park to win by 4 points.
