Belmont (10th) v Armadale (9th) @ Forster Park
Match of the Round. Why you ask? It’s the last C3 game for these guys before relegation and they are playing for the unwanted wooden spoon. Belmont have a better % and should they manage to win their first game of the year, they’ll leapfrog Armadale. It’s a similar story in the ressies with the loser finishing up with the wooden spoon. It may not be pretty footy on Saturday but it is bound to be a cracker.
Armadale to win.
Dianella Morley (7th) v Carlisle (3rd) @ Dianella Open Space
Sportingpulse has it as the Cougars home game but from memory they swapped last time due to some work at Light St. Carlisle have wrapped up 3rd spot and will be half thinking about Noranda next week. Dianella will be looking to go out with a bang with a big upset and know that last time they only went down by 7 points (and had 7 more scoring shots). Unfortunately for them the Cougars will be looking to fine tune for finals.
Carlisle to win.
Nollamara (4th) v East Fremantle (6th) @ Des Penman Reserve
Short of winning this game, Cockburn losing and being able to bridge the 27% gap between them, Easts league finals chances are done. They had a great mid-late year run but were hampered by the slow start. Nollamara have a lot to play for with a home elimination final next week guaranteed with a win. Des Penman gives them a great advantage and I don’t expect the Cougars to let that slip.
Nollamara to win.
Noranda (2nd) v Ballajura (8th) @ Lightning Park
Stuck on 8th, Ballajura need to find a spark. They have only scrapped over Belmont for a win in the last 3 weeks and come up against a side that gave them a 10 goal hiding last time. Noranda on the other hand are peaking at the right time and will enjoy a home game practice run for next week.
Noranda to win.
Ellenbrook (1st) v Cockburn Lakes (5th)@ Gwynne Park
It was a 5 goal margin in Ellenbrook’s favour last time but this time the Warriors are desperately seeking a big win to try to grab the home elimination final off Nolla. After narrowly going down to Carlisle and Noranda over the past 3 weeks, they’ll be hungry for a win against another finals bound side. The Eels can stitch up top spot, a week off and a home semi final with a win – even the predicted showers won’t dampen the enthusiasm for that.
Ellenbrook to win.
