With a few clubs announcing coaching appointments and changes for 2024, how much club movement in and out of the PFL are we going to see in 2024.

The big announcement for 2023 was the move of Secret Harbour over to the Peel League after 12 seasons in the PFL. Not sure what the motivation was behind this, but one can only assume the travel factor may have been an issue over the years. I notice a few decent signings over the past few weeks, so maybe the PPS and amateur status of the PFL was a factor.

Any clubs looking to move over from the shit show at the Metro Football League?

Highpants,
Yes, interesting regarding Secret Harbor.

Metro / Metropolitan footy league serves a purpose for semi social football ...always has. (even with prison teams)

As we've seen with clubs that cross over to WAAFL/PFL it's a different 'Standard' and they struggle initially until they embrace a higher level of professionalism

Regardless it serves a vital role in the footy landscape.

With the 9 Team C1 in 2023 and Secret Harbour (C2) pulling out of the PFL comp all together I would imagine there would be no relegation from C2, C3 and C4? which leaves the leagues looking like below unless any clubs are pulling out or adding teams. Any news on anymore team movements hearing a couple E Grade clubs looking to move/return to a League/Reserves set up.

Apparently the Brighton Seahawks have come across from the metro league and have merged with ECU.
A few teams from E1 trying to get a second team up and running.
a lot more clubs also getting behind trying to get a woman’s side up!
what’s this news on a new F grade side?

The F grade side is players above 28 if I remember the email rightly and I was also 16 a side.

It's basically masters at ammo level.

A lot of guys go to masters and struggle sometimes with the lack of scoreboard and sometimes competitiveness. Some of the masters team still take it pretty serious training a few times a week and others are once a week and playing masters the way it should be. Having a kick, having a beer and enjoying still running around while the body can do it.

Stinker. While it may well serve a purpose for the clubs at a lower level of professionalism and governance, the league’s management leave a lot to be desired.

Go have a look at the social media page from the lead up to their grand finals last year. The sheer stupidity and immaturity paints a broader picture of the way the league is run.
No wonder clubs are leaving in droves…

I emailed the president of the league about those posts as I thought it was unprofessional and not a good look for the MFL. He replied back saying he had no issue with it and I should get over myself. Any interest I had in that "competetion" went out the window and will never return.

Highpants,
You make valid points, the integrity of the relevant league/competition is vital (as in any comp. Lol which I won't elaborate on anymore than I have)

However I don't think it is a case of 'abandoning league...its about development.
I see a Nth of the river club (name escapes me) is seeking to join PFL this year.

That is what community football is about...a 'starting point' and then development and to move to the next level. That is a huge step up and only the clubs that can lift their professionalism will survive in the long term.

Yes maybe 'Metro' needs to clamp down on inappropriate social media behaviour?

Hi Mightymagpie. What does 3/4's mean in C4 and C5 etc?

Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

TFAF

just means those sides have a side in A or B grade aside from Carlisle who are C1. Just the 3rds and 4s for that respective club.
