I'll kick this off in the new A League board. Been a lot of changes in the Glory line up after losing Jason Davidson, Andy Keogh, Matt Spiranovic, Shane Lowry, Scott Nevill, Jacob Italiano and a few other delistings.

But the big marquee signing was at the end of last season Bruno Fornaroli from Melbourne City who looks all class and will more than adequately compensate for the loss of Andy Keogh. The rest of the new recruits are mainly defenders and wing backs (sorry I'm an amateur when it comes to soccer terminology).

A disappointing 1-1 all draw in the dying seconds last week and a tough road trip to Geelong this weekend to face the A-League newcomers Western United who look like they'e already got a pretty strong line-up.

seems to be the nature of Soccer in general - mass changes to squads each season
Popovic is a good manager & he'll get them up when it counts

Yes they snatched a draw from the jaws of victory last week. Disappointing to see Spiranovic leave as I thought he was outstanding last year as was Davidson but I think the Glory still have a very good nucleus and expect Ikonomides to go to another level this year. This week could see Berisha come back to haunt us again. :-(

Probably fair to say they were a tad lucky to get away with a draw yesterday at the cattery against A-League newcomers Western United. We were the better side in the first half but failed to score which seems to be a problem this year then they went 1 nil up after a wonder strike from Greek import Kone.

Then late in the match, around 76th minute I think young Christian Popovic got on the end of a perfect ball in by Kilkenny to put away the header neatly into the corner. Great moment for the kid (18 I think) and proud moment for the Dad (coach/manager).

Both sides had their chances as the game opened up but both keepers pulled off some unbelievable saves. I’m just worried about our offence I think it would have been nice if we still had Keogh and I think the player we are missing the most is Jason Davidson. Hopefully Ivan Franjic comes in next week and gives us some real drive and penetration.
