Can you name one from each club, please.

a couple of more points on Hardie:
he was club captain
fairest and best
club leading goal kicker

The only awards he did not win was Simpson in the grand final and the Sandover
Hence, he would clssify to be a legend of WA football.

It is a strange day when I am on the same side of the discussion as Bazza.

As far as his football career goes there is no question that he is one of the greats.
As a commentator he is a spud.

Tiger of old wrote: Brownlow medallist, Simpson medalist, and I think perhaps a Tassie Medalist... Just a guess jack but I'd be saying that's why he's referred to as a legend?

It's not what others say but his FOOTBALL record says it all.

From Subi - Okker & HB jr.
Others - too hard, as when I was a frequent spectator at Subi games, you rarely saw opposition teams more than 3 times a year (remembering, we rarely saw finals action).

As to Hardie - he certainly has an impressive CV, and perhaps I mark him down too hard because of his buffoonery post-playing.

However, I also note he is not a Legend of the WA Footy Hall of Fame - although is an inductee. His name appears in neither column in the AFL/VFL HoF.

That is because his best football was played in WA and in state games.

He did win a Brownlow & a Sutton Medal in his 2 years (85/86) at Footscray AR.

Bh: correct mate, you know the Victorians are not overly fond of acknowledging the exploits of others.

The people they recognise are:

Farmer
Cable
Moss
Marshall
to a lesser extent Maloney

A good example is Featherby. I thought he held the record for the number of kicks in a game in both states, never mind the rest of his achievements?

Jack: don't take any notice of the Hall of Fame, they can't even get their basic information correct when they are adding members. Take David Parkin, for example, he is listted as a coach; and yet, his time coaching Subiaco is not recognised, This is strange, given that, in the same 'coaches section' Bunton is listted because he coached Subiaco and SD successfully.
