Yep, The Old WA Today WAFL Page I actually found the best, great lay out easy to find and navigate, decent reports and had a few pics.

And yes I agree the The West online version is a shocker, compare it to The Australian and ABC and BBC News sites etc, its total crap.

Yep, I think the first round of Fairfax cuts a few years back meant the end of WA Today WAFL, Fairfax is bust and only just going at the moment and I think the Perth office is about 6 people.

I decided to ring The West this morning to get some answers. Got a phone call from Nick Rynne. First of all they didn't even know the WAFL section still existed on Perth Now. It only shows on the mobile version. Basically comes down to resources and traffic he told me. Said the number of people who viewed the WAFL section didn't justify putting the stories up. He said it's not as simple as putting what goes in the paper online.

I gave my thoughts about The West latest online version and another staff member said the West Australian was coming out as an app soon, this week I believe. I said it's the worst layout of any online news site.

I told them you might as well remove the WAFL section of Perth Now if you are not going to post stories on it. Pretty unprofessional if you ask me.

WA Today closed down the WAFL site for the same reason, just not enough hits, you could see it happening because they always had a comments section and there was bugger all activity even after a grand final, the writing was on the wall.

And the answer is if you dont like 7 West media then dont watch or read.

Channel 44 for showing Dity Harry and Love Serenade relatively Commercial Free,Channel 34 and 7's Best Network,Channel 78.Those guys are pretty good and they've got Greg Miles on board.
