This organization is a disgrace. Since they purchased The Sunday Times and Perth Now there is NO WAFL at all on Perth Now and a story that was written on January 16, 2016 titled Schofield in no hurry to coach in AFL, is still the leading story sitting there.

I had a glance at a Sunday Times this morning on my walk and all 4 WAFL matches were covered but absolutely nothing on Perth Now as has been the case all season.

Also on The West online only 3 WAFL matches are covered, no write up about the Perth v Claremont game which was clearly the best game of the round and was a cliff hanger.

You mob are a disgrace and out of touch. Goes to show how lazy people get when they HAVE NO COMPETITION.

Have a look at yesterday's West's preview of the Peel Swans game.

It went something like Tallan Ames is out for Swans and Zac Dawson is in for Peel!

Around about 37 words in total and as BH all it contained was a mention of ins and outs.

A year 6 could have written it.

I sympathise with everybody. I get my news on the WAFL from this web site to be honest. I am very thankful for this place indeed.

What do you expect when Western Australia is now (very sad to say) a one paper town. The old perth now site has always been slack! Obviously more journalists are needed across the board. Don't hold your breath waiting for that to happen though. The whole place is going backwards!
As AR eluded to, that's the beauty of this site. All the Wafl news and peoples input is here. I too am very thankful we have a great footy site such as this for all the Wafl news.

Originally, WA Today and Perth Now both had dedicated WAFL Pages, WA Today dropped theirs first a few years ago, Perth Now used to take you through to a Vic Site Herald I think but had a WAFL page, sounds like that is gone now as well.

Long Term I cant see both printed papers lasting on the weekend, I reckon the Weekend West and Sunday Times will merg into one paper. Circulations are only going one way.

You are right Bazza WA Today used to cover WAFL when they first started. But I get the impression they are a much smaller outfit over here in the West and they are part of Fairfax media which just announced massive staff cuts recently, I think about 25%.

But I can't understand how the Sunday Times can print 4 stories but not put it up on Perth Now. Maybe they want us to go and buy the paper? I know Perth Now used to have a pop up and you had to subscribe after a few page views. You could register without paying and it gave you so many views then ask you to subscribe again.

When you click on a link to a story that takes you to an eastern states paper like the Herald Sun you can't see it or if you try viewing anything else on that page you will be asked to subscribe.

I guess it's one of the challenges in the modern technology world the digital media needs to make a quid to pay for the staff we want to go to the WAFL games and write a story.

If they make subscription a reasonable price people will do it. You don't have printing and delivery costs so it should be something like $10 a month.

And on a separate note, the new West Australian online version is crap. Would have to be the Worst (ironic) online news site I've used. You can't see a blue line showing you a page is loading and half the time the links don't work. I often have to go into my bookmarks and just load the whole thing again.

The Worst layout by a mile of any online news site.

Sorry for wandering off topic - The WA Today site will probably only get worse, given the recent turmoil there.
Although I would gladly be happy to be proven wrong!
Very disappointing NO Wafl news can be seen on said site.
