yep..agree with you both. I also fully realise that not all government debt is bad especially when its directed at infrastructure etc which creates jobs, benefits the community and helps industry but I think the time has come to draw a line in the sand here in WA when we're paying $1b in interest a year. whichever party took that line to the election would get my vote.

Yep and the scariest thing is we are now borrowing money to just keep the show on the road, I ie recurring expenses like paying teachers wages , putting petrol in police cars etc.

Good thing about being a swinging voter is you dont have to justify stupid situations made by ÿour party".
Now for any party to leave us 41 BILLION dollars in debt after a once in a lifetime resources boom, is a BLOODY DISGRACE. ( so no Colin ya aint got my vote)
Yet we still have two blow hards saying they gunna spend even more money we aint got, sums up the sorta lack of quality we have in our political ranks.

Unka2 our population is projected to rise to something in the order of 3.5 million in the next 50 years or so. Under those circumstances we need to improve and expand dramatically our rail network to improve productivity and improve our air quality. Demonstrably and unquestionably there is only one side of politics, Labor, that have demonstrated that they are interested in and capable of building such a rail network.

Good comments Swan.Labour do have some great transport plans for the future. The current government have no idea ie Row 8+9.
But with 41 billion debt and the possibility that the Barrett Government are cooking the books. With a debt situation being a lot worse than we think.A lot of plans might have to put on hold.

I do so at times try NOT to get involved in us v them in politics. If anyone out there believes that had we had labour in power in the last decade that we still wouldnt be 41 billion dollars in debt is dreaming. I ask the question would my life be diff under lib or lab, nahhh not really. 3.5 Million in 50 years??, spare me, thats bugger all in real cities. Anyway i digress, both parties are a disgrace, hence why 1 in 3 people dont support either lab or libs

There will be Federal money made available for rail projects for Perth. Even the federal Liberal Party realise they can't treat West Australians with that much contempt and not lose a number of seats as a consequence. Steve Irons should be working on his CV now or perhaps he will be able to move to Melbourne permanently.

There wont be any of these pie in the sky ideas, metronet etc all there will be is more austerity, unless the iron ore price cranks up.
