Rather than changing the trading hours how about they ban anyone from the shops on a weekend that is unemployed, retired, not working or holds a pension card.
That process would make the shops busier during the week, and allow space at the shops on weekends for people that can't get their midweek

Absolutely agree 100%

My Dad (now long passed) once he retired and had all the time in the world during the week to go to the shops, still would go up there on a Saturday morning. Ironically, and then complain about how busy it was.

My wife and myself would question the reason he refused to go during the week and his answer was "can't get out of the old routine"
This went on for nearly 15 years, and he refused to change.

Bloody did my head in!!

So the people working in retail or these stores aren’t allowed a morning off.

Up to the shop owners what they want to do but they should have the flexibility to do what suits them. Allow 7-7 Sunday and the shop owner choose what they want to do as to what will generate the most income for them.

There is no argument to support letting one area have the day off. Mining, nurses, police, fire and the list goes on all work 24X7 365. In NSW I can go to Woolies at 2am and its open. Their choice what they do and if I don't like those hours I pick a job that suits what I want and don't work in retail if I don't want to work Sunday.

I've got a 24/7 Supermarket up the road from me on Striling Hwy and a 24/7 Servo and mini mart end of the street, never had in the inclination to go there at 3am..
You don't but others do. When travelling to NSW for work constantly I'd arrive at shit times and there was actually quite a few who would be in there buying stuff. Night shift workers, parents with sick kids and the list can go on.

Let the shops decide what is best for their income not us who have no idea when people want to buy shit.

Mate I was a shifter worker for decades, I always managed to do my shopping in normal hours, sounds like a beat up to me.

With you there Bazza.  I was on shift for 30+ years and managed to get by with a normal life.  It may well be a beat up, but it also would be discriminatory.
