In 1982 Peter Stannard build our house, palace back then, dated now. I’ve looked after it, still in 100% condition. The other day my wife yelled out, the ovens not working while she was preparing a leg of lamb roast. Of course, I checked out the usual things, have you turned the bloody thing on you silly bitch, checked the metre box. the oven was dead. After 40 years of baking cakes, cooking lasagne, heating pizzas and cooking homemade pasties, THE CHEFF BARRONESS HAS FINALLY DIED. WHAT A SERVANT.

You did well winger, nothing beats a homemade Pastie!1979 my fiancé and I rented a stone built, 2 brm, farm cottage in the country as no GEHA was available. Discovered a Meters No. 2 that had been boarded up which she used for cooking mutton roasts, pie and cake baking. The biggy was that it heated the whole cottage during our cold winters all day as Mallee Roots were plentiful.Over time I was transferred to Mt Barker and the house we bought had a storage chip hot water heater. You beauty, 4 Mallee Roots cooked enough hot water for a day for 2 adults and 2 babies.

Unfortunately, these sort of things probably won’t be bought back, as most of today’s appliances are made to break down.  No money in stuff that lasts forever!!

Way back when I had a mate that not only owned a mini, but his old man was a chimney sweep.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog.

Exactly 58s. I think the terminology you are seeking is called pre-planned obsolescence. From what I have observed, the deliberate prevention of repair being one of the main levels. And too many people cannot see it.

A good example is, I would have thought everyone heard of the old Phoebus Cartel. That cartel only had one purpose!
And sadly many old articles are now being lost. Once they are gone, will never be able to get them back.
Some old electric stoves (for example) work really well but spare parts nowadays are an issue with availability and sometimes pricing..
