Such sad news now 5 precious kids have lost their lives and it could be more. There has been way too many of these incidents with bouncy castles all over the world. Surely they have to be banned? Surely no insurance company will offer liability insurance cover for bouncy castles from this day forward. This for me goes down as one of the worst tragedies in Australian history. Ban the bloody things ffs.

No words can describe how tragic this is and the absolute agony the families are experiencing.  You’ve got to have a lump in the back of your throat when you read about the tragedy.
I thought this was a good article www.perthnow.com.au/opinion/kate-emery/t...r-own-kids-c-4978354

Heart breaking stuff. Apparently was only windy for a brief amount of time in the area. And the rest of the day was said to be calm.
I thought these bouncy things are supposed to be secured to the ground with strong cabling or weighted down securely as a matter of course?
Obviously I have been misinformed.....

Horrible story on the eve of Christmas. The poor family's and friends and the school..The Tasmanian equivalent of Work safe would of been at the school today..As Wag stated there must be a way of securing an inflated castle to the ground.

Looking at the photos privided it looks like that school is at the top of a steep hill, hence the name of the school Hillcrest (coincidentally I went to a primary school called Hillcrest in Bayswater). A bouncy castle sitting at the top of a hill even secured down is a disaster waiting to happen I would have thought. Easy to say in hindsight I know but it sounds like commonsense to me.

It is a sad thing especially when you look at the grandkids 11, 9, 7 running around the yard, where would I be without one of them.

There is a bit of anger tho'the number of go fund me pages being used to scam folk, how could anyone be so heartless and callous.
We live in a time where intelligent people are being silenced so stupid people won't be offended

Grump there are always those sub-human scumbags who will pounce at any tragic opportunity to rip someone off.
Such a sad thing to happen at anytime let alone a week before Christmas, like you I'll be giving the grandies an extra hug next time I see them.

Sadly another of the children died in hospital this morning in relation to Thursday's accident. His life support equipment being turned off and passed away a short time later. I think that is 6 deceased, with 2 remaining in hospital and one of the children recovering at home.
Will be a heart-breaking Christmas for the families involved.
