Has anyone else been watching the Americas Cup. 

The boats are unbelievable, I do not understand the science but they something else to watch and the Kiwi's dominate it, their house their rules!

Is that cocky Yankee skipper Dennis Connor still around the AC yachting scene Grump?

far from a traditional yacht though they have unbelievable speed now compared to they 80's which we thought then were fast - the keel setups on these Catamarans are almost bizarre in construction aren't they?

Amazing looking things it seems that there is only 2 hydrofoil bits in the water

There is no comparison nor a fair one. It is a completely different class of boat, but Australia II probably sparked the design war that led to what we see today and she will go down in folklore. She did what no other boat could do before and that was beat the Yanks in their own veggie patch. Ben Lexen, Alan Bond, John Bertrand, Warren Jones, John Longley and that crew will long be remembered.

Conner would have to be in his eighties by now.
He's more probably retired, I would have thought
