MO -- I think you are right about being a bit more aggressive in defending their mate after the illegal hit; as you said there is a lot of stuff that goes on in packs during a game as well. I remember one palyer, whom won two, Sandovers whom had a very intersting nickname for a so-called ball player. Naturally, that same player would have taken a hee of a lot of punishment -- unfair punishment from opposition players, himself..

I have no problem with the legal stuff Subi do, it’s a good tactic to wear sides down.

To beat Subi you need to get in first and get their good players, they are physical which is ok but swans shouldn’t have sat back and taken that rubbish[/quote

Yes, we need to import or train a Butch Hemming or Dwayne Griffen or Tony Solin type that will sort out these snipers.
( I left out Roo as I was referring to a more agile type) ]

The hit on Warwick after he had taken the mark was late, high and unnecessary unless it was intentional.
I was actually staggered there was no report on the player Braut?
We lost a Prelim Final (1991) against the same side when that cheat Phil O'Reilly sent Stephen Handley off for a far lesser offence and from memory he was exonerated at the tribunal on the Monday!

Last time I looked footy was a contact game....Gus will probably get a week but no harm done....Gorgeous Goerge picked himself up and played on so not sure what all the crying is about. Braut was a bit reckless but likewise ...no harm done. You lot need to toughen up clearly...no wonder you're 1 and 4.

Litherland would get 3-4 in the afl - left the ground, no attempt to mark or spoil, deliberately left the ground to bump the player in the head - pure luck the player wasnt knocked out and similar with Braut on Wilson, those acts are what the afl is trying to rule out of the game but the WAFL tribunal is weak so who knows what will happen, they will also want Litherland in the state game.
Swans of old would not have put up with that rubbish and a Subi player would have gone down somewhere, weak efforts need to be dealt with on the field if the tribunal wont sort it out.

In 2017 that mongrel Zac Dawson playing for FART in the second semi ran past the ball and took out the smallest player on the park in Liam Baker....knocked him clean out and he got stretchered off and guess what?....no case to answer and Dawson got a farewell game in the GF. So if precedents are anything to go by Gus should be good to go.

yep, not expecting Litherland or Braut to get rubbed out.
its why Swans needed to get on the front foot and start running thru some Subi key players early in the game, put Kitchen and Horsley out of the game before Swans blokes get targeted like what happened, its an obvious Subi tactic so not sure why Swans wernt ready for it and get in first.
either that or even up when they start with their weak acts..

MO...from what I saw it was a pretty tough hard game and your blokes played very well. Litherland should get a week as it was high contact, reckless, low impact as Hampson recovered pretty quickly....Gus should take his penalty and we all move on...in saying that, he has an impeccable record and hasn't been reported before playing for Subi as far as I know so that may work in his favour to cop a fine if he takes an early guilty plea...who knows these days.

intentional high contact and can thank his lucky stars the player wasnt knocked out, he left the ground and didnt even raise his arms to spoil the ball, tv replay showed him jump into Hampson and bump him in the head, tv commentators were in shock as to what he was trying to achieve apart from cleaning up Hampson.
to get a week for a weak effort lke that would sum up the WAFL administration.
that no Swans player fixed him up or another Subi player as payback was poor, as a team Swans shouldnt put up with that rubbish, hopefully the coach has had a word about it.
