I know it is hard to compare a colts team to your league side but in Pickers first season I think we had a slump due to the new system, new instructions etc but we came out of it.

I would not be to harsh on your players cos from where I sat I saw lots of positives, Gault was certainly one and one of my favourite players Notte still doing what he does best!

Given the performance of the reserves and some of those players perhaps being given the chance to go up I think there are some more wins on the horizon.

Completely agree mikeh. There has been many games where he and Riggio have tried to drag us over the line.

I suspect that he may not be the last retirement between now and the end of the season.

Matt Riggio is 30,Tony Notte is 28. They may both be weighing up whether to go around again in a competition that gives them zero chance of playing in a premiership team.

This is Riggio’s last season. Will be moving down south. As it is he travels from Waroona to train and play.

The last link to the 2010 premiership team ( Tony Notte was at the club but didnt play in the GF) I hope Swans are planning something special for the last home game as Riggers has been a great servant of the club

I am sure the Swans crowd would have loved to have given Banners a huge send off as well....if we only knew he was retiring!

Not sure what Banners work commitments are BH but maybe the club could recognise him with a lap of honour or some form of tribute at one of our last two home games V SF or Claremont. He certainly deserves recognition for what he has achieved at Swans and in the AFL. Also maybe a members function towards the end of the season.

Yep totally agree Mike I am sure the Swans fans would love to give Banners a fitting farewell as recognition for the effort he always gave us out on the field of battle.....just a pity he is retiring at only 28 as he has many good years left in him and is one of our few pacy players.

Yeah I think its important for a footy club to recognise their retiring players in a public manner like this. It sends a strong message to young players about club culture and the values that are important in the game.

Full of admiration for Riggs as he stuck fat with the club when some others didnt
