Completely agree mikeh. There has been many games where he and Riggio have tried to drag us over the line.

I suspect that he may not be the last retirement between now and the end of the season.

Matt Riggio is 30,Tony Notte is 28. They may both be weighing up whether to go around again in a competition that gives them zero chance of playing in a premiership team.

They are two of the players I had in mind.

I ask this of the SD fellas on here...has the coach we employed got the playing group on board? I haven’t seen enough this year to fairly comment so respectfully ask your opinions.

I am not close enough to it to make comment DW but many on here said Harding was the reason for Swans constant failings since 2011 I wonder if they think the same of Pickering?.......or could it just be the playing group do not work on their game anywhere near hard or long enough both on and off the park to be a success at this level?!

I have missed several games this year including today's game. What I will say there have been some appalling selections. I have seen nothing recently that justifies Faulkner playing league at this point in time. Stewart's efforts last week were as poor as I have seen in a long time. I could go on with other poor selections.

We don't seem to be rewarding some of our more experience reserves' players and if they are selected they are very much the first ones dropped.

All I know DW is the team I saw today is totally unrecognisable from the group that were running around 6 weeks ago.I am at a loss to explain the drop off. Hopefully Adam Pickering has some ideas.

Half way through the last qtr I was driving past and noticed our ex skipper didn’t make it through to the final siren as he crossed the road. Replacing Tallen and all the enthusiasm he brought to the team can not be underestimated. Rog is about the only other one who seems to have that ability to inspire within him. Who is the current ring leader of our mob?

Another question...anyone know why Banners has retired?

Correct me if I'm wrong guys but I think Ellard and Notte are Co- captains.Tony tossed the coin today in the Absence of Ellard. As for Banners this appears to have come a bit out of left field. Disappointing that he had to go out with the limp performance the team put up today.

Our two captains as you would know are Ellard and Notte. I have made a comment about an aspect of Notte's game previously so I won't repeat it here and I acknowledge his commitment to our club for many, many years.

What we need to do for the last few games is to select our league team on merit and form only. We certainly shouldn't do what has been done on other occasions and pick players on potential rather than select players that currently justify selection in our league team. Also, they should be given several games rather than in and out like a yo yo.

I always felt sorry for Banners and the game style he was often asked to play back at this level. Whatever his reasons good luck and thanks for all the effort and a few moments of brilliance I will always recall with a smile
