Alway a telling factor of a players ability, temperament and character when they step up and perform in big games. Taylor seems to be lost behind Naughton in terms of rating, but definitely one player I would love the WBD to draft....at 196cm he would be very handy up back for the WBD....would love both he and Naughton TBH....both will be 10 yr plus AFL players.

Sam Taylor has been outstanding since he came up to the League side especially the last few weeks, his strong overhead marking a real highlight...hard to believe a certain Swans fan wanted him left in the Colts for the remainder of the season!!!

firstly - have a great holiday Mike, seeing yesterday's win meant you left on a good note.
well done to Harding, he got the boys mentally prepared and we got the start we needed.
Turner ran his guts out, great game young man and was ably supported by Riggs, Crowley and Ellard.
Banners was watched closely by Manning early but worked his way into the game and effort was great.
Freddie finally did something and kicked 2 handy goals.
Stewart needs to do more but stood up at the end..
Taylor destroyed Keitel, got a big job and delivered.
Simpson from WP was superb, probably ran out of gas at the end but he was dominant and Lourey and Strijk were dangerous everytime it went down there.
looks like a few blokes will retire apart from Ames so good to see the boys win a final and get something out of the year and maybe sneak another one this week.

Each and every one of that team deserves an accolade for the way they fought the game out when it looked like West Perth would overwhelm them on a few occasions.

It was such a brilliant day and a fitting way to celebrate Tony Notte's 200th and Tallan Ames last game at Basso. Great day for the club too with the reserves snatching a win as well. It is a credit to the club that they have bounced back so well from the dreadful 2016 but also from the poor performances of August. Was great to see the long queues outside the ground and I will be interested to see what the attendance figure will be. Fantastic also to see Michael Walters at the game with his family.

If we are being brutally honest their chances of beating Souths next week would be slim based on what we saw today, but you never know what a win like that can do to galvanise a team. I will be logging in to the WAFL website next Sunday morning in France and hoping for some good news.

Thanks to all the Ozfooty regulars for the robust discussions during the season. Good luck to the remaining finalists ( especially the Ducks!) and I will be back in October to discuss cricket and other matters.
Take care all

Safe travels Mike.

I know that...however I am guilty of suggesting the possibility.

havnt heard DW but I would be surprised if he plays on again, think his body is pretty battered.
full credit to him yesterday, last month he could hardly run but yesterday he showed great determination to keep going all day, he is a competitor.
along with Riggs, Ellard and Banfield they gritted their teeth and got us going in the last 15 minutes.
