3. Armstrong - not sure what the negative chat is about, he's done a fair bit, been to 2 AFL clubs, state 18s, etc
4. Luke Dwyer - should be higher but don't think he is available.

Pickering seems to be an assumed coach in waiting but most people not sold. Whispers are that Cooper is out. Stavros is a legend but isn't the man. Maskos from SF was never thrown up but ran second to Curley. Michael Broadbride would have been fantastic but left Claremont with work commitments. Geoff Valentine was a good option but not sure he wanted to leave his post under Harris.

Should be announced next week ?

Is John Laurito in the mix? He's been inner circle in the coaches box for at least a few years now? A smokie perhaps.

Played under John wouldn't be the worsed choice.

I played with him at one stage for a few games. Remember a booming kick from inside the square that sailed through for a major and thought 'wow, where did we find this guy'.
Do not know much of him as a coach but have had many a word with him over the years and comes across as a real decent fella, a good man. Have met quite a few kids he has helped over the years and all speak highly of him.

Yeah great guy he was a playing coach at DM, I think he just finished up with Swans at that stage pretty sure he coached the likes of Chris Yarran and Nicnat when he was the Swans colts coach, he also was a teacher back then as well .

Morrison & Harding were our Colts coaches in the Premierships of 07/08 PN but JL would have coached them in the Colts as 15/16yos in 2006 plus a few other boys who have gone on to have decent AFL & WAFL careers from his time coaching our Colts & as our backs coach over a number of years and he would be a decent candidate if he applied as would Shane Beros both with solid teaching backgrounds and good footy pedigrees.

Just had a bad dream KCEF.

Funnily enough it involved an EF player getting the coaching gig, we become a permanent cellar dweller and the club going under during his tenure. Not a nice way to wake up, let's hope it was what it was... just a bad dream.

Still no noise regarding a new coach. reading between the lines I got a feeling they might be getting very close to a reveal now it's all gone a little hush.

Nothing to fear, DW. It's my understanding that the ex-EF guys that were mentioned were either out of the running or didn't apply in the first place

Fingers crossed haha

Just joking mate. have a lot of respect for the EF footy club. Your ability to produce quality players over the years is outstanding and can be attributed to good coaching at all levels. Wish we had access to a Robert Wiley right now. That would be a better dream than the one I had.

Heard one of the candidates goes on holidays tomorrow so we might find out this afternoon. He isnt the preferred candidate but we cant convince the coach we want.
