Southy you dont have to give reason for a couple of new recruits SF have been a great developer of their own talent for many years hence why a certain club targets them before they even get a look at senior footy in fact probably in the boys ear during their Colts days to make the switch over....as low as you can get in my books!

Thanks Ben, so that's 13 recruits to replace the 24 lost from last years league list, so 11 spots available for the colts and ressies boys. Has any other club lost 24 players of their league list in one hit?

I remember at the end of 2009 to about half way through 2011 we lost an entire senior side and some , only Hamsy remains actually , we had to pull a few guys in then I think a few of them still play , Dylan Ross returned to Claremont

There's our once in a double decade episode - certainly not 10 in one hit

Higgo will probably return to EP if that alignment ends , Wilson & Luff respectively too

Mate, and yet on your website, I can see 2017 additions such as Solomon (EF), Ingram (Willeton), Websdale (Carey Park), Nickels (Perth), Depane (EF), Boughton (Narambeen), Armstrong (EF), MacBean (Kingsway AFC)

That's footy

Where did we finish and how close were you to beating Freo in the GF?

I reckon your recruiting was good for 2017. Getting Crowley is the coup of the year. Will dominate. Looked really fit. I already stated, I think it's a great shame you've lost those kids. I've watched them since colts and rate most of them very highly.

LaH laughable some of those comments. Please explain which clubs we are going to beat given we lost by over 10 goals on Saturday with an almost full strength team against a team that I believe was quoted by Subiaco suppporters as at about half strength?

If that's true it's a fantastic result for us, looking forward to big things this year

I am not sure how any times Subiaco supporters have to be told this but your continuing raping and pillaging of the weaker WAFL clubs is exacerbating the angst that most WAFL supporters currently have and is a contributing factor in the decline in attendances.

As I think it was DD so eloquently put it and I paraphrase I hope you enjoy playing amongst yourselves because if your club continues to go down the same path as it currently is and in concert with the ineptitude of the WAFC and the host club alignment the WAFL is almost gone.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion, this is good heathy discussion. I guess in the meantime us Mighty Lions supporters are very happily enjoying our success.

Not offended mate. It's a worthy discussion.

At times in the past, I have criticised my club's recruiting. People on here know that.

But not this year. We were in serious trouble with our losses. Can't replace that many losses from within no matter what zone you have.

Sure, I think your old south boy Vidovich probably did woo Matera, Sokol, Fimmano and Amoroso. Seems logical.

Can see Matera being a real good player. So sorry about that.

Sokol isn't about for the moment. Fimmano is honest. Haven't seen Amoroso play. Says he averages 5 possies per game at south.

Apart from Litherland, I don't see any ready made stars on the ins list.

It might have been a once in a lifetime opportunity for some of your Colts boys to actually get a look in LH but alas you went out on yet another annual recruiting splurge.....sad to say maybe Tugboat has a point after all!

Sadly, we really only had 3 really good players in the colts last year.

Jye Harris has apparently decided not to pursue a career in footy.
Jack Beverley, who I really rate, has done his knee and will be out for a large part of the season.
Jacob Miller is going well and should force his way in at some stage.

Hopefully a few of the others that have been elevated can develop and surprise. We'll see if they can get a kick in the ressies first.

Actually there is a way , it's called rebuilding with what you already have

We've nearly had to do it twice since the 2009 Premiership - go have a look

And it aint been 10 a year from other clubs either
