Given Saturday may have been our last game for this season it will be interesting to see who wins this years SD fairest & best.
Taking into account the likes of Simpson, Ames, Ugle, Blakely, Blight, Elari, Jukes, Geappen, Banfield, Cary, Houghton & Riddoch have missed large chunks of footy this season with injury or suspension that may harm their polling chances I have listed my Top 6 for the year but in no particular order-

Ryan Davis- another great year from Davo who is the spark that ignites the side. Last years Swan Medallist who went on to win the Simpson Medal for WA vs SA and gets better each season.
Tony Notte- the 2013 Swan Medallist who never plays a bad game and is a highlights reel with his aerial ability unsurpassed in WAFL football. Tony along with his fellow defenders in Amesy, Simmo, Kirky Ugle et al are the heart & soul of the team.
Matt Riggio- Riggs best year at the Ducks especially with his consistency and he has become a real leader at the club.
Matty Rogers- a real unsung hero for mine who has taken his game to another level this season. I have made mention elsewhere that Rogie has really impressed me with his leadership in that he is always geeing the boys up and has been a model of consistency up forward for us who has hit the scoreboard more regularly as well.
Alex Howard- Howie is another who keeps on improving year by year and is now a very accomplished half back who backs his judgement and also provides good run rebound from the back half. Would not be surprised if he is taken in the draft.
Nathan Broad- last but not least Broady has been a great story this year with his improvement so dramatic that to mine he is now become a bonafide star of the comp. His dash from half back or on the wing is a treat to watch and is also very hard to beat one on one where his overhead marking ability has been a pleasure.

Just my 2 cents worth as I have seen it this year, would be interested in other Swannies supporters thoughts.

Says the flog who's team employed a disgraced drug cheat as their weights fitness & conditioning coach for many years, hired him twice in fact ..any $ubi flags won in that era should have a big fat * next to them much like WARTs!

Yeah we were super fit during our glory years weren't we. No one could get near us in 08, a highlight was seeing Naitanui get chased down in the GF, our bloke must have been on something. But we never failed a drug test.

I cant argue with any of that mate, I reckon you are spot on, Broady with his dash could attract a number of Sandover votes too, but lets hope Davo win the Sandover because he is the premier player in the comp and like we discussed Sat evening it was astounding that Clownsend didn't have him in his top 50 last year
Beneath the Southern cross i stand, on Bassendean Oval, can in hand, Swan Districts, you Farkin Beauty!

I will give JT his due mate he described Swans supporters much like Corbin Middlemas did as by far the most passionate in WA bar none (which we already know anyways) ;)

I would put my money on Matt Riggio, closely followed by Ryan Davis and Tony Notte. Broady will poll a lot too as well as the dynamic duo Elari and Faulkner although Aaron has missed too many games to be a threat.

Furthermore to the original topic before we were so rudely interrupted by the cheating $ubi flog ..I have already mentioned the improvement this year from both Rogie & Broady but another who I believe took his game to another level this season was Jukesy. His hands and ability to win one on one's whilst being totally manhandled and as a hit up on the lead have been exemplary and it was just a pity he missed the first 10 weeks or so with OP as he could well have kicked 50 goals this season.
Much to look forward to next season and beyond at the home of football Bassendean!
