Is Alex Rance the best player to emerge from Swans ranks since the birth of the AFL back in 1987???? Watching him on Friday night I'm struggling to think of another who has become as influential at the AFL level.

The best Full Back in the nation by a country mile.
His old man went alright as well DW a top class CHB for Swans in the triple Premiership years & for WA in those classic State Of Origin clashes in the 80s vs the Vics and later at Footscray & WCE where he was also Captain.
We have had a lot of brilliant players in that time frame the likes of Naitanui, Walters, Yarran, Jetta, Garlett et al and great role players in big games, GFs with the likes of Ball, Embley (Norm Smith Medal), McDonald and a Coleman Medallist in Cummings (Beasley was in 85) but yeah Romance jnr is certainly at the top end of talent we have produced.

My thoughts BH are that only 3 cracking seasons of AFL footy from Craig Callaghan in the 90's and of course Andrew Embley although never quite as consistently influential as he should have been compare to the level Rance is now playing at. Ball had one stellar season right at the end, Their is an argument for Cummings I guess and Nic Nat looks like he finally may be on the path to shattering this argument but what I'm seeing from Rance now is a bloke playing seriously elite footy in the position he plays for his team. Interesting debate in my mind hence raising the topic.

Steve O'Reilly was another bewdy who kept Sumich to only 1 or 2 goals in the 94 GF in a side that got thumped by nearly 100pts in an era where Full Forwards regularly kicked large bags of goals and he won a Fairest & Best at Fremantle when he moved there.

Definitely the best ever Jehoviah Witness to play the game....that's for sure boys......

I think that was one of the sticking points in him signing a new contract with Richmond as he was having some issues fitting his religious commitments in with his footy.

Certainly could have been the beginning of the long awaited Armageddon (looming for the past 140yrs) and Judgement Day for Richmond if he had of walked away from the game with the form he is in this year.

Betcha the JW's are happy with the contract, 10% is a nice little earner for em eh
