Swan Districts have continued their rebuild towards financial stability after posting a $122,477 profit for last season.

The result, after depreciation, was reported ahead of Thursday's annual general meeting on the back of reaping more than $180,000 in transfer fees.

I was expecting a 6 digit profit for 2014. Well done to the board, employees, players, members and supporters. Looking forward to a good year in 2015.

I expect G Walton et al at the WAFC will be overcome with emotion and unbridled joy.

With draft fees being reduced to a bag of sheckles for the clubs and the WAFC CEO choosing to keep the lion share to distribute amongst the crown wearers at HQ- i expect he will be even happier next year if Swans can deliver more talent than the average to the AFL.

Were the draft fees cut before this draft or will it kick in this year. If it was before Swans could have made an extra 30-40K.

Excellent result for a WAFL club, and puts the profit in the zone that successful AFL club Geelong wanted to be in for season 2014.

Geelong president Colin Carter said his club would record a small profit of about $100,000 to $200,000, depending on how it performs in the finals series.
