Trying to be positive about this match. Tough to do when the opposition thumped us by 10 goals at the same venue just a few weeks back. Yet it is a new day and everyone starts at zero. The coach has already ruled out Ames and Boekhurst via his blog the other day, hopefully the losses will be confined to that. Latch and Jesse Manton could potentially be the replacements for the injured pair. Riddoch and Burnham would also have to be chances based on their reserves form last week. Lets hope the spirit and attitude they showed 2 weeks ago, in spite of the setbacks carries through to this week.

A good start is paramount in this game, if we can be level or close to it at quarter time, the confidence will grow in the team. Swans problems over the last 5 weeks have been compounded by not taking opportunities in the first quarter and as a result falling behind. For example in the South's game, Swans had 3 clear cut opportunities in the first ten minutes of the game before the Bulldogs had got too far ahead. The result was a couple of points whilst Souths were kicking goals every time they went forward. So the score at quarter time was 5- 1 to 0-4 and Swans were on the back foot. This is just one example of their poor starts to games, early in the season they were coming back into games, it hasn't happened in the last 5 weeks.

Good luck also to the Colts guys who have a great opportunity to win a spot in the Grand Final.

Good luck to Swans for the first semi. You need to get your form and confidence back that you had earlier in the season. Easier said than done. I agree Mikeh that you need to start well. I reckon EF have a bit of the down hill skiers / front runners about them. If they get away from you early then you're in trouble. However keep it tight and get your noses in front then the sharks aren't so great.

We got within 8 points of them at EF oval in Trevor Williams' first match in charge. They were at full strength and we had about 8 key players out injured so they can certainly be beaten on the day.

Wasn't impressed with East Freo on Sunday..I reckon we have this and will be travelling to Leederville for a prelim v Subi (who was also unimpressive on Sunday)
Beneath the Southern cross i stand, on Bassendean Oval, can in hand, Swan Districts, you Farkin Beauty!

SD will be all over EF, they are a class act, who like Harding said have struggled to be motivated for weeks..... because they knew they were finals bound.....as for being unimpressive last weekend, yeah true Swan Dog, perhaps EF motivation was lacking because they knew they had a home finals spot in the bag....hard to play good footy when the motivation isn't there I guess ;) .....everything back to zero again this weekend, good luck to both sides.....

home finals count for jack shit in my eyes, if you are good enough you can win any where, SD are good enough just as EF are good enough on their day, though hopefully the ski fields of Atom Stadium have a good layer of snow on them this weekend, so EF down hill free-stylers can to do what they do best!......

win win for EF this weekend.....no not the league and reserves 42  , don't panic mate....if EF win they go forward to the prelim.....if they lose I reckon Stavros might be on his last legs......hopefully PFC haven't taken all the good coaches by then if Stavros does get shown the door

cesspit...8 key players you say?..I think that has been PFC problem all year mate......lacking 8 key players full stop.....actually one could easily misconstrue that to 22 TBH

Come on now don't be cruel Freezin.
Just make sure you get well ahead early on, that's all I'm saying.
Then you'll be fine.
