Gotta say that I feel sorry for the WAFC board. Imagine trying to walk naturally with a 3 foot pineapple shoved up where the sun don't shine

Sadly, I think Newman may have given the Weagles a bit of leverage with his recent escapades. Eg : We believe that it would be in OUR players best interest to be under our direct supervison at all times, be it at EP Eagles or WCE. Still a steaming load of shite which ever way you look at it.
That ending only made the bad years' seem as if they never even happened...

why is that Hachi?....Newman is a WCE player isn't he?....if WCE feels he needs a bit of direction & supervision than so be it from the club that is paying his wages I guess....common sense one would think?

Obviously fustrating for SDFC, but don't you think Dawson would be a good mentor for him?....isn't the Professor well known for his excellent man management skills.....

They should take Dalziel and co from EF as well then if its going to be fair, WCE just make it up as they go along

if WCE do they do SD, stop being so subjective mate... the point is that WCE may feel Newman can be better managed at EP, if the likes of Dalziell, Brown, Sheppard etc need that than so be it....WCE pay their wages not EFFC.....

like I said it's fustrating for SDFC, but come end of the day WCE have to decide what's right for their players...SDFC got the draft fee for the kid, so it's not as though SD have been overly hard done by is it?

I hope the kid stays with you guys for 2013, though I have no doubts SD will be working hard ensuring Garlett keeps his head down in 2013....

That was the point I was making Freeze. Newman has opened the door for this to happen, with what has gone on recently. I, and most SD supporters don't like it, but it is what it is.

Swan Districts are set to fight the late bid to shift troubled young forward Murray Newman to their aligned WAFL club East Perth rather than let him play the season at his original club.
west coast were eager to transfer Newman to their WAFL subsidiary.

Newman is still dealing with off field issues from last year, and his pre-season fitness was so poor in November that that one of the coaching staff beat him in a 2km time trial. west coast initially attempted to move Newman to the Royals, believing his welfare would benefit under the supervision of coach Brian Dawson and his assistant Phil Narkle, the eagles' indigenous liaison officer.

But they were told by the WA Football Commission that the alignment agreement would not allow the 19-year-old to change WAFL clubs until 2014.

The controlling company intend to appeal that decision and hope to have Newman join 11 other players who will play for East Perth this season when not required for AFL duty.

Let him go Swans, if he doesn't want to be on the Swans list and contribute, then we don't want him. Give someone else a chance who really wants a go. No point in chasing him.

These prick$ get their way with this host club bull$hit & now they're still not happy to play under the rules set down for 2013 & want to change the goalposts yet again!
I for one will be watching very closely how this plays out & what decision the WAFC make on this as it will certainly tell us all if the commission are running the show or as we all think/know that the 2 AFL prick$ are!

I think you'll find big business has the so called football commission and the two alignments in their pocket. After all, this mess has been backed by the commission, has it not?
