After an impressive hoodoo busting victory last weekend, Swans now have to front up against the form team in the competition. Thank goodness the game is not in Mandurah, otherwise it could get very ugly. Home game gives us a chance of at least being competitive.

I think Swans have a chance in this game as long as we bring the same attitude and intensity we took to Tigerland on Saturday. We beat Peel a few years ago at Bassendean and even ran them close in Round 23 last year when Swans had nothing at stake and they were heading for a Grand Final.

Peel are a very good team because apart from their cohort of Dockers players they also have a good squad of non AFL guys and they are combining well at the moment as West Perth found out last weekend.

Regardless of the result of this game, Swans fate for 2024 lies more in the three weeks after the State bye. Most people agree that Peel, East Fremantle and East Perth are the stand out teams in the competition and the other teams, excluding West Coast are fighting for 2 spots in the final five. After the Peel game, Swans play West Perth, Subiaco and South Fremantle and if we could win 2 of these 3 games we will be in a reasonable spot going into the 2nd half of the season.

Not holding out much hope on this one. Assume it will play out as our profile suggests and if we are to be in the game it will be a dour, low scoring affair but in reality we will be doing a good job if we get done by less than 10 goals.

Looking at the ladder you can see how important not getting blown out in this game will be as we currently have a 25-30% advantage over Subi and WP. In a tight season this could be the difference between 5th and 6th. As mikeh stated, the proceeding 3 games will decide our fate so if we can limit the damage today and then get wins over WP and Subi it will effectively be worth an extra game.

On selection, hard to make changes after a win but  what is going on with Collins? In the team early on and played through injury against EP but has played the last 2 in the ressies, can’t get back into the team even with Erceg and Howard out.

Any news on the injury front with Erceg and Stephens?

Disappointing result for mine. A great match until half way through the third quarter. For Swans to score only 4 goals in the second half won't cut the cheese. It really needed both Swans and Perth to grab the 4 points for the sake of the competition, and sadly both teams failed. Apparently Swans having much more use of the ball in this match and not capitalizing on the ball disposals. The season is slipping away.

I think I should cut and paste this on every Swans game.

Swans had lots of the ball but poor skills execution and decision making cost them as it cost them against East Fremantle and Perth.

Peel showed us how to maintain composure under pressure and make the most of their opportunities, they generally delivered the ball to a leading forward whereas our guys sprayed it and made life very difficult for Edwards and Kohlmann.

We could have won that game and I don't think there is a huge gap between us and the top group but teams like Peel will punish us mercilessly for silly mistakes we make when using the ball. Swans have to work on their skills execution under pressure if they want to play finals. The wasteful kicking for goal could be linked back to the haphazard way we were delivering it and made the forwards kick from places on the ground that were low percentage shots.

Loved the way Seb Bright chucked himself into the fray today and his two goals were well deserved and kept us in the game.

They have 2 weeks to reload now for the West Perth game which given our 2-4 record becomes a must win for Swans.

The big men win the big games. We are going nowhere with out a bonafide ruckman.

Agree. Doc is a great competitor and noone can fault his effort week after week but he is totally out of his weight division against some of the big guys from other clubs such as Jones, Eastland and Reidy from Peel. If they don't think that Germs is the answer the selectors need to identify a young ruckman who will eventually succeed Doc who you would think would not be playing for much longer.

Rest easy, Brock Carter suspended for 1 game, the dirty, rotten maggots were pathetic with the report of this one. I reckon there should be a umpire disapreciation round !

What the hell are you on about?  The fact that Carter was suspended means that the report by the umpires was clearly warranted!
