Coming off that disappointing loss to Claremont a week or so ago, it will be interesting to see how the players respond. Losing games by small margins can gradually erode a teams confidence if it happens regularly. Finals are probably not on the agenda unless they can turn it around and go on a 5 or 6 game winning streak.
Still important for them to keep competing and try to play 4 consistent quarters of footy which they have only done once this year and they got their only win as a result.
Some of Swans best have been out injured which hasn't helped, Clarke may be ready to return this week but the others look like they may be a few weeks off yet.
Subi are playing pretty well and it will take our best football to get over them.

Gee mikeh, SD could easily be 4/2 mate....so a 5 or 6 winning run could be on the cards for SD and wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if SD do that. Just needs to be sooner rather than later though. You don't want to be that wet sail storming home in the last quarter of the season....just adds to the frustration. Keep the faith, beginning with Subi this weekend. Should be a close hard contest.

Could've,should’ve. The fact is that Swans are 1-5 and with very little room for further slip ups. They have a few winnable games coming up so could get on a roll if they can beat Subiaco

Mikeh it depends on which Subi turns up, we had an ordinary game to win v Pth, then a horror half in the loss to EP, then 2 great games against CL & Joondy, almost blew it late in the Souths game followed by a bad loss to a very good EF, so anything could happen. Mayo has a game under his belt so should be better for the run and we get the skipper back after a long rest with a hammy so hopefully he will keep all the youngsters mind on the task. Hard to pick, maybe being at Leederville tips it Subi's way.

I feel like a broken record but I will say it again. Swans best footy stacks up against anyone else in the competition but they just don't play it often enough. Too many fade outs or poor quarters that let the opposition take control of the game.

Subiaco are a strong finals contender and represent Swans last chance of latching back on the pelaton to at least have a sliver of hope. On paper they should be able to put up a strong performance but of course it depends on the effort, skills under pressure and desire to win. Subiaco have been a bit up and down as all young teams are but we will have to assume that they will be at their best and play accordingly.

Aiden Clarkes return will help. Doc Blakely will have his hands full with Zac Clarke as will Tony Notte and Jesse Glass-McCasker with Mayo and Sokol. Danger would be pleased that Bayok has been banished to the ressies.

There will be some good battles in the midfield and around the ground and if Swans are up for it I reckon this could be a great game to watch for a neutral. The weather looks fantastic as well.

If its a close finish its definitely Swans turn to win one of these cliffhangers!

Mikeh, how many minutes did Notte play last week and how did he go? If he plays tomorrow I expect he'll go to Mayo?

Another week, another last quarter fade out. Would love to know what sort of pre season program they did because Swans are obviously not fit enough to run out 4 quarters.  When does the cricket start?

Geez that Leederville oval is freezing in the colder months.
Swans can't break that Leederville oval voodoo spell.
Almost after the siren with a great Edwards mark ,in the pocket.
Fought hard again today without a win.Every third Swans field kick ,doesn't hit a target.Thats not good enough at tier 2 level.Turning over the footy and throwing players out of position.
Liked Subis return to there 1970's type Retro jumper.

Honestly not sure fitness is the big issue. When our KPIs are about winning games of footy and all that trickles down from that we might have something to look forward to again. Until then, same old same old.

There comes a time when you have to start wondering whether the coaching is up to it when the same mistakes are being made week after week.
Losing by small margins a few times could be seen as bad luck, if it happens regularly there is something else going on. I reckon the team has gone backwards since last year.
