After the State Game bye last weekend and a fortnight since a come from behind win against the high flying Tigers this week we jump on the kite to play Subi in Kalgoorlie, I assume at the Sir Richard Moore Oval and not Boulder?
The last and only previous time we played there we managed to kick 3.22 would you believe back in 2003 also against Subi who kicked 9.9.
They have their full contingent now back after missing the early games in the season with covid and injury with the usual likes of Kitchin, Delahunty, Marsh, Matera, Sokol, Dewar, Walters, Lockyer, Harris, Giro etc they will be hard to beat but we should be confident if we go there focused to get the job done, play our brand of footy we can at least take it up to them.....hopefully!!

Most of those you mention are coming back from extended layoffs BH. Marsh hasn't played this year, Matera, Dewar, Walters, Harris, Giro have all missed games and we still haven't seen Braut or Atkinson so wouldn't be surprised if we struggle a bit. We had a strong team on paper against the ferals last weekend and still only won by a point in the last seconds of the game.

With most of our real good players closer to the end of their respective careers than the beginning, Wardman is doing the right thing by bringing through a host of young blokes who are understandably a bit inconsistent. I think this will be a very good game and imo Swans are right in it.

Is Subi starting to drop off after the highs of the last few years? Who knows but I don't think we are at the same level of say a Claremont or WP which Swans clearly is after your terrific win last week.

Agree BC, Marsh, if he plays, will likely be on managed minutes, just to get some game fitness so not expecting anything from him, Dela didn't look 100% in the state game, surprised he actually played, especially as a ruckman. So on paper with all those guys you would expect to win but Swans will be on a high after knocking off one of the flag fav's and should go in with plenty of confidence. They beat us last year at Leederville when we were close to full strength.

Expecting a hard close game, Subi by 7pts.

BH, must have been a very wet day with scores like that, 25 shots to 18 with just 12 goals between them.

Should be a decent game. Swans had a couple of close ones against Subiaco last year with a 1-1 outcome. As has been the case all season the COVID merry go round will be a factor. Hopefully we kick straighter than the last time! FFS 3-22!

I had a look through Swans record in regional WAFL matches and it is absolutely abysmal. Swans have played 19 games in Regional venues since 1984. They have played in Bunbury 4 times, Newman, Port Hedland and Dampier twice and Busselton, Broome, Kalgoorlie, Karratha, Kununurra, Manjimup, Moora, Mt Barker and Wickepin once
Their record is 2 wins , 1 draw and 16 losses. Average losing margin in these games was 35 points.
They have played East Perth 7 times for a win , a draw and 5 losses. The other team we beat was Subiaco by 3 points in Kununurra. Our other losses have come against Subiaco ( twice) Claremont ( 4), Peel (1), East Fremantle (1), Perth (1) and South Fremantle (2). Pretty sad record overall
An incentive for the boys to try and improve this record on Saturday. Probably only Tony Notte would have been around when they last played a match in the country in 2015.

I hope it’s time for payback for Kununurra 😉

Just heard the final score,  I didnt get a chance to watch the telecast but it appears that we faded badly in the last quarter after being 20 points up at 3 quarter time. For those who watched the coverage, was there a strong breeze heading to one end or was it just that Subiaco ran out the game better as usual? (i.e fitter). Disappointing either way. Sick of honourable losses.
3 quarters of football just won't get the job done against teams like Subiaco.

No breeze Mike - just folded. Disappointing.

Good third quarter when challenged by Subi, but considering we're named after an aquatic bird we played poorly when it rained today.
