I'm not sure why I'm kicking off this thread, but as an opposition supporter and a WAFL tragic, I'd like to give credit where it's due and congratulate Tony on 250 games.  In today's footy world, it's a real feat to play that many games at WAFL level and to perform as he has over a long period of time is a real testament to his loyalty to Swans, character and ability.  The term "champion of the game" get's thrown around a bit too much for my liking but this guy is right up there.  Congrats and all the best. 

Thanks guys, we have mentioned it on the game preview but I think the fact that an opposition supporter has started this thread is testament to the respect that Tony has throughout the footy community.
To me, Tony is one of the best "clubmen" I have come across at Swans, you just couldn't imagine him playing for anyone else but Swans. A very versatile footballer who can play in defence, attack or midfield. I can't remember him ever being reported ( I stand to be corrected) but he very rarely gets involved in scuffles or rough stuff. I have enjoyed watching his career develop and I am hoping that he might find the motivation to get to 300. Tough ask I know because he would have to go till the end of 2023 to be a chance, He will be 33 by then but he has proven to be very durable having played 174 consecutive games. Who knows Swans may be a flag contender by 2023 and Tony may get a chance to be the premiership player he deserves to be.

Cheers Mike. I'm of the view that anyone who reaches a milestone of 200 plus games deserves their own thread so supporters of all persuasions can show their appreciation. It's a huge achievement at WAFL level and just think it shouldn't be hidden in a game day discussion. That's just my opinion which doesn't count for much given Notte is an opposition player.

There was zero mention of his milestone in the so called football budget today.

I've had the radio turned on all week and no mention heard on that either!
And watching the "so called tv sport reports" (if one can call them that) in the evenings have not mentioned anything!

The WAFL and Football Budget are two weeks behind the rest of the world it seems.  Notte has only played 248 games before this weekend's round according to them.
