Doesn't the pain you have been suffering over recent years go back to 2010 when you went on a spendathon? Not long after that ended up in huge debt and somehow now in the blink of an eye you are the richest club in the WAFL in terms of profit, and by some margin. All the while you've been wallowing at or near the bottom of the ladder, can't pay players, crowds way down then bingo. Suddenly turn a huge profit. Must have held a lot of bingo and quiz nights.

If you actually did your homework DD you would realise we have returned a decent profit every year since 2012 our turnaround in finances hasnt just happened overnight in the last year!

I think psychologists might call your condition "premiership envy" DD. Suck it up.....

Our last 5 years of profits have been generated from non football related activities and even as I type we are generating the same income.
I will add the same activities badly managed caused the problem in the first place.
What should also be remembered is we didn't receive any additional funding or grants from the WAFC, we stayed afloat from our own resources.
We have spent the last 7 years rebuilding our cash reserves.
Come and have a look at our fancy new change rooms and members seating.
We lease the oval and don't have a shire that upgrades in the interest of the community. We do it all ourselves.

The fact you came from nowhere to win a flag then fell away just as badly suggests otherwise boys. So can you expand on these “non football related activities” RSM? Rio and BHP give you a nice big juicy cheque and you have to do some activities in return?

You really need to do some homework before posting I suggest!

We played in the 2008 GF with a side containing a dozen teenagers and lead the invincible Subi by nearly 4 goals heading into half time before they over run us in the second half.
We played in the 2009 Preliminary Final after beating WP pretty easily in the 1st Semi before getting rolled by Subi going for their 4th flag in a row (who eventually just lost to SF that year).
Won the 2010 GF by a bee's dick.
2011 massive hangover not helped by losing the likes of Krakouer, Twomey etc to the afl and of course our very respected Coach Brian Dawson replaced by Greg Harding in his 1st season as a Senior Coach.
2012 finished 3rd losing the Prelim to EF.
2013 finished 4th losing to EP in 1st Semi.
2014 finished 4th losing to EF in 1st Semi after being tipped by everyone to win the wooden spoon that year.
2015 knocked out of the finals spot by Claremont kicking a goal just before the final siren in the last round against WP.
2016 last with a young squad not helped by injury.
2017 finished 4th beating WP in a classic Elimination Final.
2018 & 19 second last and last respectively after undergoing a complete rebuild under new coach Pickering with the only players left playing from the 2010 squad being Notte & Riggio.

So in short we played Finals in the 2 years before 2010 and in 4 of the 7 seasons after and only just missed out on a 5th in 2015 by the virtual last kick of the H&A season!

They dont hand Premierships out and or Finals places for that matter and being a Perth supporter over the last 43 years you should know that better than most!

Cheers BC, it has been a rare feeling for Swans supporters in the last 35 years. You guys have had a lot more to cheer about recently but Subi have been through tough times in the past as well.
