Spot on mikeh......great to see Goodwin continue with his development with a ton....supported by Whiteman and Inglis. Cartwright is boom or bust at present.....4 fast boys and Rocchiccioli should hopefully run through Qld weakened batting line up....but one can never take anything for granted i guess.

Be great if Tassie win, means the WA v Vic game will have some added spice, which if WA win, will bring a Cheshire cat like smile to BH's face.....though NSW have SA and Qld to play, and may gazump both WA & Vic at the post.....crucial days play for all sides seeking a top 2 spot on the Shield table.

Perfect day for the Warriors in their quest to make the Shield final. Firstly bowling out Queensland for 170 and maximum bowling bonus points. Now they have 2 days (weather permitting) to grab the extra 6 on top of the two they have already earnt.
Then we have Victoria chasing a nigh on impossible target of 400+ against Tasmania, so if WA win and Victoria lose, we will be about 3 points ahead of them going into the last match and the Vics will have to make all the running.
Also we have NSW being frustrated in their match v SA by their diabolical weather which is tipped to continue tomorrow.
Assuming Tasmania end up completing the win,  the final is pretty much a lock in for Hobart.

Great knock by Inglis, hopefully he can repeat it v Vic and hopefully in  a WA Shield final win....surely that will put some pressure on the current test incumbent Carey....who looks cooked with the bat.

WA surely should make inroads into that Qld line up and win outright. The Tas v Vic game could go either way and NSW will be favourites to roll SA. So a variety top 2 permutations on offer in the mix. The WA / Vic game should be a beauty.

Tassie have pretty much locked in a home final with their win. NSW are on the way to victory over SA, so its now up to the WA boys to take the 9 Queensland wickets today and we'll have a great last round.
As for Inglis, surely he would have to be knocking on the door now given Careys recent poor performances with the bat in particular.

With WA requiring just 4 wickets (Qld needs 227 runs) with 53 overs to play as I type, we should take outright points at the WACA.
A bonus will be if SA can keep NSW at bay in the final hour of play at Cricket Central, which will mean that next week's (March 11-14) Vic-WA game will effectively be an eliminator in terms of a Shield final berth.
However, the Redbacks, more than any other state team, are prone to rapid and inexplicable batting collapses.

Unbelievably Arch the SACA's last wicket pair managed to hold out the Baggy (Green) Blues and salvage a draw.
WA got the outright after knocking over the Banana Benders for 301 in their pursuit of 448 for victory!
Roccichioli with another 4 for in each innings continues his good season with the ball.

Great win by WA, well done SA in knocking NSW out of the finals race.....mind boggling that  NSW  batted on for as long as they did.....what was Henriques thinking?

Victoria will need to make all the running in the WA game now......a draw won't help them....it's a win and only a win. Hopefully Hardie is back.....who drops out....Short or one of the quicks?....probably Short, as Hardie may exacerbate his calf injury bowling......

WA in the pole position to claim the 2nd position in the final which is almost certain to be in Hobart. Like you Freezin, I was dumbfounded by NSW's decision to bat on this morning when their main job was to bowl out SA which they nearly did in the time available. They could have done with that extra time and they could have easily knocked off any runs they had to make at the end of the day. Not complaining though!
NSW are not entirely out of it but they would have to have a thumping win over Queensland and hope for a no result in the WA v Vic game.
WA will bring in Hardie if he is fit, to bolster the batting but if not fit would they consider a all rounder like Agar to bat at 7 and bowl 15 overs?

Cartwright damaged a finger I believe and thus wasnt able to field in either innings, so you would think he was an out, his form is ordinary too I must say.
Hopefully Hardie is fit to replace him, otherwise it will come down to either Wyllie, Phillipe or Fanning as his replacement for Melbourne later in the week.

Roccichioli with another 4 for in each innings continues his good season with the ball.

The Redbacks did their very best to capitulate, Beas, with seven of their batters scoring a combined 12 runs.
However, the efforts of Tom Kelly, Nathan McSweeney, Jake Lehmann and Ben Manenti indirectly did WA a massive favour.
As Mike has said, NSW is not yet out of the equation and will be hoping that they can beat Queensland at the Gabba and that Melbourne's fickle weather does them a favour.
By the same token, if WA does beat the Vics outright and SA somehow upsets Tassie, we could yet host the final.
This could yet be one of the best Shield finishes in years.
