be interested to see how EF respond after that Peel loss.....sounds like EF will be doing well here to pull off a win....SF seem pretty confident and have lots of scoring options up front which will test EF defence....does Wiley play a Fletcher to help Bristow in the ruck?...hopefully Watson can repeat his 5 goal effort from the first derby....especially with Hampson likely to stay on the sidelines....Ellis back in to help add some height to EF forward line perhaps?....though Peels reserves is a few levels down from SF league side.

SF to me just have EF measure across the ground, though they have had everyone else's measure bar Subi so far this year. Need big efforts from Read, Jupp and Winton to shut down the likes of Saunders, Johnson and Shaw up front....just can't see where EF will hurt SF on the scoreboard with Hampson a likely bystander again. Still derby's are always unpredictable so hopefully Wiley can bring out EF intensity and pressure SF on the day.

Big asks for both the colts and reserves sides but hey you gotta be in it to win it I guess...good luck to all three grades and hopefully it's a cracking derby for all concerned.

Mate EF took it right up to us last time around, yep the Peel loss was a bit of a set back, but if East bring the game they brought along to Subi and the last derby it will be a ripper game, we only just broke away in the dieing seconds to grab the points in a thriller, yep the South forwards Saunders and Co can be a handful if they get going but you seemed to have some answers at Shark Park.

Regardless I think this will be a ripper and hoping for good weather and a big crowd.

Hampson, JMac & Eardley all look to be out until after the state game. 3 key players which I think will cost us....but it is a derby

I would hope Stokes comes back in even though his ressies form hasnt been great. He gets to more contests and can kick a goal.
Ellis up forward as they probably double team watson, try kicking to him for a change.
Scleicher been in outstanding form, surely needs to come in as those 3 big inside bodies you mentioned are missing. Peel smashed us around the stoppages last week.
I fear same team v peel same result.

You blokes should be labeling this the Foundation Day Derby. I heard it called the Foundation Derby on radio the other day. I hate this political correctness bullshit. WA Day FFS

Yep I prefer Foundation Day as well.

They are trying to paint the States Founders out of the picture.

Baz: Good luck to both sides in the foundation day derby. I actually think Barnett was simply trying to copy New South Wales Day (which of course is equally mis-named, 'Australia Day'). However, the ALP would support the re-naming of the day on the grounds you mention, unfortunately.

simpson dropped
seems Solomon has stepped ahead of fletcher & stokes but unlikely to make his debut
