From the sounds of things EF were more than competitive yesterday, pity they rolled over in the second half and especially that last quarter to give Cl the win.......lack of fitness?....lack of belief?......lack of a tall defender to deal with Maister?.....or all of the above?

Interesting to see the colts and reserves were slow to start and finished better than their opponents, whilst the league were fast starters but slow finishers......another whitewish :( .....can't remember the club having so many in a season for a long time.....gonna be interesting comparing the senior playing list for 2016 with this years lot.....can see a lot of spring cleaning by the next coach......

How did the newbies go in Cripps and Green?......that's 17 debutants this year with 15 being local.....whilst a lot of folk here say some of these selections weren't deserved or a kin to a chook raffle, who have been the most promising or likely for 2016 and further success?

Much better effort yesterday across the board from the Sharks. Ball movement was far more direct and quicker which proved to be far more productive as far as the scoreboard goes. Lost momentum after half time with a few crucial mistakes made which resulted in goals to Claremont. Bit of a let down to let the margin blow out late as it did, we played a lot better than a 6 goal defeat. No match up for the size of Maister and Seaby when both up forward. The defence held up really well and moved the ball out as best it has all season. This is an area that will have to be addressed looking to next season. Cripps has a future in defence where he played yesterday but is not going to be the quick fix they need. Green will have a future but may not be ready for league footy just yet. Late withdrawals of Anthony and Chartres probably forced the selection a bit. Up forward Bristow and Ellis look the right combination with both looking dangerous and hitting the scoreboard which we have been crying out for. Do we need to search for another ruck option so that Bristow can play permanent forward next year with Ellis? Fletcher is obviously the developing ruck but if Young retires we could be a bit short in this department. Conan is the Colts ruck and I believe in the 18s squad, how about giving the young bloke a couple of games in the ressies to finish off the season to see how he goes, just a thought thrown out there. Stokes has'nt been able to recapture early form but if they can improve his kicking and decision making he can also be a option in defense or ruck. Size wise we don't have a lot more that jump off the page. Small defensive forwards, mid sized defenders we look to be ok with but need more leg speed in the midfield, we lack the Richie Bourne type who can get outside and use his leg speed to run and carry. Lestersmith has been a good move back, played his best game back there yesterday, this has allowed BOB to go forward and possibly into the midfield in the future.

The Sharks played their best half of footy for a long time. Took risks and it payed off. Third quarter was a tussle, but then blown away in last. My mate reckons said if may have been a fitness issue, as they ran really hard in that first half. Interestingly no Anthony in the team! Charters was a loss as he may have been able to assist down back with the Tigers talls. Believe the forward line functioned well due to the quick ball movement, good to see Ellis amongst the goals . I understand young will retire at years end, so fletcher etc should get the chance to develop. Green doesn't appear ready yet, but he has at least had a taste now and got something to work for. Cripps must have played ok, so encouraging signs .

Clearly our best performance for some time. It was refreshing to see the intensity of the tackling, the quick ball movement, the more direct play and the willingness to take the game on. I thought our leaders set the standard and that our younger brigade accepted the challenge. I agree with the comments regarding Bristow and Ellis above and Lester-Smith clearly played his best game for the season. It was particularly pleasing to see the promising displays from our younger players such as Jacob Green and Jack Cripps. Some skill errors, turnovers and poor decision making either side of three quarter time helped shift momentum. Nevertheless I left the ground with optimism for the future.

Strono - got to remember that at least they were aggressive and prepared to take risks and take the game on. Mate reckons that was some of the best footy they have played all year in the first half. Don't take risks, you dont get rewards. Chatter from Subi is Yarran might miss this week due to concussion which would be good, although Read has always done a good job on him anyway. Mate said Liam Anthony didn't train at all this week, and schleicher has a broken nose. so unlikely to play. Am going to the game this week, as sunny Carnarvon time has finished, so hope the team can maintain some of the Claremont first half form. Subi may relax a little til the finals... lets hope.
