Very important game for both teams here.....SD searching for a hat trick of wins to reignite their close but no cigar 2023.....and EF looking to stay in touch with the top 5, by preventing a hat trick of losses.

Murdock is a big loss, especially v SD strong midfield. Be interesting to see if EF pull the pin and give a debut to young overage colt James Spadanuda.....not sure Bill will, but a current few seniors underperforming and close to a run with the reserves, to find some confidence and form. SD due a change of fortunes v EF after some recent close losses.

Some talk that SD were gifted the 4 points last week v Perth...always easy to park the blame of a loss elsewhere....footy like most sports, swings most frustratingly in roundabouts.....usually the unfortunate evens out with the fortunate over the course of time....time is a great healer they say.

Hopefully though Swans don't bring their own umpires with them this weekend. Confident we will bounce back from the 2 losses. Souths and East Perth I suspect are stiffer competition than Perth and West Coast who Swans have played and beaten in the lead up to this one. Though Perth did beat South!

Little Buddha will be missed if not playing but the other mids can step up. Must be a few ressies boys knocking on the door of selection. Josh Ritchie could get his first league game.

i was impressed with ball earlier in the season so hoping he gets a recall into our fwd line after his 4 goals in the ressies

good to see jono marsh bounce back v ep - thought he played very well - whilst he only kicked 1 goal he would of set up 4 along with an equal game high of 8 inside 50's - he also only had 1 free against which was the softest free given all day & crowden milked it & the umpires fell for it - they were terrible all day!

gee last year when we played sd at the waca we gave them a fair dinkum belting - hoping for the same

You guys look to have read the tea leaves well- looks like Ritchie to debut and Ball in the squad. No Spadanuda however. But some big losses should close the gap here, no Murdock, Joyce, Schoenfeld, Leggett or Holmes.

Well they are big losses along with Murdock - curious as to why they are outs. On a positive note good to see Snuffy and Jack Cleaver named in the reserves side for this weekend.

Interesting to see Ex EF premiership player Adrian Bromage's son Will is on EF playing list now. Touch wood the young fella is half as good as is old man.

I’m pretty confident we’ll win this by 40 plus. Just look at the 2 sides. Both have injuries- but the EF one is way stronger. Which is why it’s been frustrating to watch them play so poorly recently. Time the coach got some questions

Freeze I heard one of your old time faves Glen Durnthaler sadly passed away recently aged 70, RIP 

Yes mate just saw it on FB.....condolences to the family.....definitely used to drive me nuts as a youngster having Durnthaler hit me tits up in the crowd, with one of his many pin point "out of bounds on the full" passes back in the day. But hey was a premiership player with 80 games for Old East and 17 for Subi....so I guess I have been a tad harsh on the big fellas footy ability....

Given the current relatively long injury list of 11 players this game provided a number of players with an opportunity to showcase their skills. This was a pleasing result in ideal conditions in front of a reasonable crowd.
