Moving on to this weekends contest v the reigning premiers. Pretty safe to say, both teams aren't firing on all 4 cylinders, EF did what they needed to do v Perth, could of been better, but I guess 4 pts is 4 pts and they all count in the pursuit of a top 5 berth come September.

Not sure if Eardley has done a hammy, if so, EF will miss his experience and rebound from defence. Also unsure how many matches Leggett got rubbed out for, hopefully only 1. WP /EF contests are usually close encounters, with EF winning the last contest between these 2 sides at the WACA by less then a goal.

Knott and Keitel usually get up to no good v EF, so EF defence will need to be extra vigilant, relying on EF mids to disrupt WP inside 50 efficiency. Good to see Dixon and Marsh hit the scoreboard v Perth, with the help of O'Reilly and Leggett, EF can generate a more then competitive score...time will tell.

Freeze, if you can keep the pressure on Joondy's mids group like Subi did, it impacts the delivery to Keitel who is the key for them. They have a few out at the moment not sure if Black and Knott will return so a good time to get them.

This looms as a very important game for both sides especially WP.I think Freeze's comment about both sides not being really happy about the way they have started the year is pretty spot on.Both sides have weaknesses which can be exploited by the opposition - as mentioned by SS in midfield pressure applied to us by Subi last week.We had a lost of errors last week, mostly due to Subi's hard work but there were a hell of a lot of unforced errors as well. Our skills were way down and even though guts and determination were still evident you still have to kick well, handball well, etc.and that just wasn't there especially in non-pressure situations.Where EF will have an edge this week will be ruck/clearances and speed. Our numbers in the formerv category are way down this year and when you get your hands on the ball a lot more clearly you create more chances.I'd say Murdock,Baskerville and Bennett will be licking their lips at the moment but even so because this year is such an even competition anything can happen.EF favourites but should be close.

We haven't lost 2 in a row for a few years so I am hanging my hat on that stat. Lose Saturday and we go 2 games behind EF and top spot pretty much gone. We haven't been horrible but we are back to the pack with Black, Knott, Kurnett, Hammo, Munns & Hutchings on the side lines, Black, Knott and Hammo are a chance to return this week.

Never doubted Eardley would play. Clearly the iced hammy and hobbling around after the game last week was a ploy to suck gullible punters in. It worked. Good to see Leggett back in the team.

Well the named side and the one that actually takes the field often are two totally different things for us. So Eardley may not play. - according to the Joondalup flog on the WAFL World radio show he won't!

O' Reilly landed awkwardly after being pushed in the back by a Pertb player taking a mark last Saturday. Must be question mark next to him. Hope I am wrong

I heard Eardley had done a hammy and O'Reilly his knee. If those 2 are out, EF currently has Boekhorst, Tassone, Meade and Lester -Smith missing....6 best 22 players missing definitely tests EF depth, especially with up to another 5/6 depth players already out. The state game and a few byes after that, can't come quick enough.

Should be a top class contest this match. If the weather forecast is true, there's a good chance of showers during the course of the match. It will depend which team handles the wet conditions better. Although the rain that is supposedly due over the weekend is hard to believe after the fine sunny conditions over the past week and a half or so.
