Not sure where every Sharks supporter is, but gee whiz, we are not a top of the ladder team.

At the end of today, O’Reilly had his knee iced but moving okay about half hour after game. Eardley. If he plays next three weeks be very surprised. Done a hammy,, but hey I’m a punter who knows SFA. Probably play against West Perth next week and get 30 possessions.

if anybody tries to tell you we’re better than last year, don’t believe them. We’re well behind Falcons and Tigers.

Plus Subiaco and East Perth. On that form will struggle to play finals.

Swans beat the puppy dogs today so I can’t say we’ve not beaten anybody of quality, but we just seem a bit laid back. Hate to say it, but watching WAFL grand final last year, those two teams gave it everything. At the moment, we just seem to be a team just not hitting the contest like the top two of last year.

I’m probably whining a bit given my team is somehow on top of the ladder, but if we beat the reigning premiers next week then I will come on here and grovel to those more knowledgeable and optimistic than me. We just don’t put in four quarters, and from pre season to now, our last half’s are hilarious.

Have to say it. Congrats Swans. Beating Soufs at the concrete jungle is outstanding. If we could do that. Sigh…….

You are only as good as your opposition allows you.
Some of the reason for your form yesterday was your opposition.
Perth were very good (for them) yesterday.
Their pressure was good, and they kept it up for most of the day.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog.
Winning isn't everything. It's the ONLY THING !!!!!!
I shot the fukin sherriff!!!!

Yes a good point. We went into game yesterday as unbackable winners with the bookies. The interest was in the final margin. Credit to Perth because at times just getting the win became a concern. It was a free flowing sort of game in perfect conditions. Obviously some loose checking by both sides so uncontested possessions high. For us Baskerville, Murdock and Joyce were very good. Harry Marsh worked hard and his brother lifted in the second half. We didn't get the win many thought was going to come our way but they were made to work hard for the win. Certainly not a four quarter display though which is probably the concern right now for our club.

Our opponents, I thought, impressed. Down back they seem well organised and had to nullify 3 key forwards which they seemed to do quite well. Leggett, if he had played, no doubt would have helped us to stretch their defense. We were pretty loose in our marking of players and Perth's mids cut us up with ease at times putting together a decent highlights reel. You would have to say they have improved considerably from last season based on what we witnessed yesterday. Getting Peter German to the club, with time, could prove to be a master stroke.

You will dick us comfortably next week, we are disorganised and Im concerned most of the mid work falls on Meadows who will tire as the season progresses and cops a fair bit of attention as expected.

But you will have 3 extra men out on the field so that tilts it to the red and blue!

I guess 4 pts is 4 pts, obviously EF were expected to win by more, but a near 5 goal win I guess would be taken most weeks. I agree re German, snippets of play to give the Perth fans plenty to like,  not only for this year, but the next couple. EF did the same under Bill initially, only to shoot themselves in the foot at crucial times with stupid turn overs and basic skill errors.

Good to see Dixon find some goals early on and Jono Marsh at the end. Agree re Leggett, definitely would of added another goalkicking option up front, hopefully he was only rubbed out for 1 match. Bugger if Eardiey has done a hammy, he definitely is the rebounder from defence into attack. Touch wood O'Reilly is ok as well. Already lost LesterSmith, Meade and Tassone to knee injuries...the latter for the season....pity Boekhorst hasn't got the cruciate recovery powers of SD Notte.....

Didn't EF kick 10 goals in the 2nd half yesterday?

I think we've seen that most teams in the top 8 can beat anyone and Perth are building towards being the 9th. I'd take 3-1 with a 4 point loss any day of the week while not firing yet. The key will be whether it gets better as it goes along.
