West Coast are also like any other team where they can continue to add players to their lists. Why aren't they getting out there and using their vast resources to attract players to the club?? The fact that they only have 14 fit WAFL players is inexplicable- there's plenty of players playing amateurs that can step in and play a role. EF even brought in Jesse Crichton a few weeks back. They have half assed their WAFL program from the beginning and it shows.

I understand we are living in unusual times. I don't like it, but I can accept that if the Eagles have an unavoidable run of Covid outs, the WAFC wants to be as flexible as possible to accommodate that. What does seem strange, though, is that a game be postponed because a number of Eagles breach their H & S protocols and go nightclubbing.

I listened to WAFL World last night and either Brett Raponi or John Townsend mentioned that the WACA were charging 16k to telecast WAFL games played there- is that normal? That seems ridiculously high to me.

EF certainly taking a risk playing this game without their State players- integrity of the competition certainly gets mentioned a lot but surely this is the same? EF are just suppose to get on with it while West Coast can postpone- all because, as Todd Curley said, through their own stupidity they have players out through Covid

Amazed EF have said ok to play this game.....players missing a game worth 4 points,  through COVID or injury, i understand......but through playing state footy, when other clubs aren't doing the same.....doesn't make sense.....might come back to bite EF, either now or later in the season.

Yep...for mine if WCER couldn't field a team then the game is forfeited and EF get the 4 points. That won't help percentage but it's better than risking a loss on Saturday.

Even with their state team outs, I'd be surprised if EF dont win very comfortably against a WCER team that is only just able to field a team. Agree about the two sets of rules for WC versus WAFL teams, an absolute disgrace.

I think the right decision was made to play this game asap otherwise to play the game later in the season when wce could well & truly have many afl players available then was a no brainer

Good point Strono.  Even though they will get belted this week, their team is at the start of normality.

Well done to Jupp, Marsh and Eardley on their state side selection. Good luck to them. All will be missed but West Coast is expected to field a weak side so we should get the 4 points. Schoenfeld most likely not back from his long term knee injury. Possible line up could be

MONAGHAN  O'REILLY  LEGGETT

ENGLISH  TEAKLE  MONTAUBAN

BENNETT  JANSEN  BOEKHURST

LESTER-SMITH  MURPHY  BURTON

MEADE  BAILEY  GORRINGE

GODDARD  BASKERVILLE MURDOCK

I/C FROM TASSONE  SMITH  BONOMELLI AIKEN FEATHERSTONE
TUCKER  RITCHIE  MEDLAND  MACDONALD

Hurn and Gaff both ruled out of the AFL team so it looks like the Eagles are going to have to dip into their supplementary list again to make up a 26 man squad.  Most of the outs are injuries with a few COVID ones . Which leads to the question as to whether the WAFL game is going to be feasible. If it is played it will be a percentage bonanza for the Sharks.
