Great to see ex Cl ruck Jeremy Goddard signed up for 2022. Goddard was the experienced tall EF had on the back burner, but wouldn't commit, till WCE made some SSP decisions...good to see EF pull a rabbit out of the hat... no news on Strnadica or Joyce as yet....but getting Goddard in is a huge plus for EF season

Sounds like it was a bit of a balancing act around Strnadica and Dixon- surprised no other club snapped him up considering the lack of rucks around. Great effort to bring in someone of his calibre so late.

Can’t say I remember him from his days with the Monts, but sounds like he could fit straight in if he’s good enough.  Strapping lad too.

Hopefully DD will find some old articles from The West Australian for you then 58, to get you updated quick smart on Goddard. As you say looks a good lump of a lad, will definitely  more then hold his own against the other WAFL rucks....might result in Teakle playing a key forward role with his greater athleticism.

FMD he was state ruckman on at least one occassion, the late Percy Johnson used to mentor him at Claremont. Pretty sure he's 200cm plus. How do you do it?

It does sound like the fact it was Percys old club may have helped in getting him across. But i'm with you DD, I would've thought a few clubs would've been interested. 

Strnadica would be stiff not to get picked up- he's been there for the whole pre-season I think. 

DD, EF were in touch with Goddard as soon as it looked like Strnadica was on WCE radar. Sticking point was he was reluctant to sign because WCE hadn't made their decision re Strnadica.....and Goddard wants to be the number 1 ruck.....though if Strnadica misses out due to WCE midfield crisis, then Monaghan will have a job on his hands pleasing both Strnadica and Goddard....still think Strnadica will get signed by WCE....

I recall Goddard as being a very good ruckman when we played the Monts, big imposing fella with good skills for a big man, real assett to the Gummies given who they are losing to the evil empire.
