I didn’t see much of the Ressies but numbers look good for Davies and Snadden. Goalkicking practice again I think- an issue for EF for a few years.

I think that Snadden and Davies have had interrupted pre-seasons but both would def be in best 22. I guess with Chalmers, Schoenfeld and English coming in and the emergence of Murdock that Snadden doesn’t have to be rushed back.

Great test this weekend against one of the contenders.

All of the new additions were good on Fri. Leggett was excellent down back. Sturt gave us some issues- lovely left foot kick. McGuire looked at home. Eardley didn’t do much down back but kicked a nice goal. Overall, a much better start to the season than recent history

Schoenfled, Chalmers and English look excellent pick ups for the club - and that is an understatement. Schoenfeld was huge BOG in his first WAFL league game. Milan Murdock's development as a player is something else that is pleasing to see. What he lacks in height he absolutely makes up for with courage. Along side this we are seeing Tom Bennett, Tim Bockman and Max Murphy continuing their development. Strnadica looks like he is going to be a more than adequate successor in the ruck. Certainly a better mark and shot on goal than big Griff was. It really was a good Friday for the club and members and supporters can come away feeling like we are going in the right direction. Much of the credit must go to the coaches and I hope the board can come to an agreement sooner than later and reward the head coach with a commitment reaching beyond this season.

One final conundrum for contemplation - how does a side with 122 more disposals then their opponents end up with less free kicks?

Ti Em on reading the Fremantle Big Footy forum, the Freo  slash Peel fans were up in arms about the umpiring, saying the umps gifted EF a lot of free kicks....yet the free kick count was in favour of Peel?? I guess one just needs to take their opportunities when they arise and secure the four points as they come.....looks like it will be a pretty competitive season(hopefully) right across the board, so a lot of games will be 8 point games I guess.

Subi is gonna be a good  early litmus test for the team, hopefully the team can rise to the challenge and improve on last years performance, where they were right in the game early on in the final stanza, only for Subi to kick away and win comfortably on the score board....can't afford to kick 6.8 in a term v the likes of Subi.....and expect to feel safe.

Interesting to see another ex EF colt in Johnny Narkle in Subi's reserves, kicked 3 on the weekend, skinny, but stands at 199cm. not sure what happened there.....but that's a couple of indigenous youngsters from the GNFL who have found their way to Subi of late.....Jai Jackson, Johnny Garlett and now Narkle.....obviously the Liam Ryan factor there me thinks.....saying that, the first two I don't think are at Subi now.....not sure how EF let Ryan slip through their fingers....pretty sure Wiley and Fry were running the Footy department then.....think it was around the time Josh Simpson came back to the club and spat the dummy mid season and left.....whilst Ryan was jumping on every ones backs taking speccies and kicking goals.....and look where is he now.....fundamental fark up there that is for sure.

2 qt kicking 1.4 plus one out on the full........all 4 points & the out on the full should of been goals
including a wasteful 3 qt....the margin could of been anything

my up & comer in mcguire had a impressive debut but just needs to tidy up his kicking but will be better for the run

not sure who would lose their spot
tucker ceratinly got exposed by sturt in the 1st half before a change
would need to look at matchups v subi to determine a change one would think

like everyone they need to back up their performance this week to beat subi
