There’s been some good Q&As on the website with Chalmers and Marsh. Looks like Marsh like Mid-Fwd. There’s been a few minor additions on team page- young Tom Eastaugh is on the main list, who played in the Colts flag a few years back.

Hard to remember who’s not on the list from last year- but Zach Jackson is off it as well as Wright and Wrigley. Not sure what the story is about the latter 2.

Interesting about Eastaugh KC...he was captain of that recent EF colts premiership side, then went to SF the next year....played a few seasons of reserves footy down there...

Disappointing about young Jackson, I hear studies and work have become his priority, though heard some chat about him wanting to go to Perth for more opportunities....as for Wright, Gero boy from memory, probably gone back home, whilst Wrigley came over from Peel last year last minute, as Peel didn't have a reserves side, so tried his luck at Moss St.....

Q&As continue with the new recruits, English, O’Reilly and Dixon.

Pre-Season games announced- all starting March 13 v Subiaco at home followed by Perth and West Coast away. Might venture down tonight for a look- weather permitting.

An unfortunate but also ruthless outcome of clubs having a spend up of both dollars and points means that there is collateral damage resulting in some players being discarded because they cant be fitted into the points gap. The outcome, well coaches and administrators get what they want, supporters also. The only losers are the discarded players who often leave with aa fowl taste in their mouth. The WAFL turn a blind eye to this morally corrupt system with unfortunate long term negative imagery for the League they represent. I'll now await the wise ones on this site, the ones that incessantly moan about WCE and FD corrupting players lists etc fixing the blame on those organisations when rubbish of this nature is supported in self interest. Over to you!

Fair enough> So what is your solution? No salary cap? No points system? If so, does that mean the financially strong clubs will continue to dominate in a lop sided competition? Perhaps you could start a topic on this in the WAFL General Chat Section.

I'm not sure how it relates to EF who have added 6 (2 of which are ex-EF) and lost Manning, Griffin, Mills, Watson, Robinson and Winton. Haven't they just replaced what they lost?

Not focussing too much on EF but they appear to be a good case in point. I note you have named some of the players that have either moved on or have been forcibly moved on but not all. My concern is that good players have had their football careers cut short for the sake of ruthless list building. Surely if they commit to a club there needs to be consideration for a little two way commitment.
Custodian I'm not paid to provide solutions, the leadership at the WAFL are paid handsomely to do so. The task in hand for them is clear. Some protection for players that have been cast aside because ruthless list managers need their points. Cast aside for no other reason but they want their points. The WAFL know this is occurring but allow it to continue unabated. Have a look at the WAFL mantra, you will see a lot of wordage about fostering the game for the future. They are falling short in bringing to account clubs that are not committing to this objective. Our competition will not attract players of the future if this continues in hte WAFL.

There's always going to be players that are moved on- each year there's 10-20 Colts kids that have to graduate up the chain. The reality is that most aren't good enough or ready for Senior football. Those that are have to push past current players, who then need to make way. I'm not sure how you fix that? The points system is restrictive in that sense- but getting rid of it creates a potential for imbalance- unless there's another way to keep loading up with recruits in check?

Totally agree with what Wright is saying, but surely if a player has been on a list for 4 + years, with little to show for it, they need to move on....whether self or club inflicted ...Watson and Robinson have moved on to stronger clubs for more opportunities....work that one out...Jackson because of work and study reasons....others yep have shown little at the senior level and have been moved on....no point keeping players if they aren't up to it....to promote colts, others need to make way....EF needed a bit of a culture change apparently, so outsiders have been brought in to fast track that change....and hopefully bring some onfield success too....

think you need to head over to the Perth page mate....they have recruited a number of other clubs reserves boys to replace their own local reserves boys....2 locals went to WCE to allow 2 non locals to come the other way....but hey can see why Perth did it.....players come and go all the time, that's how a club and hopefully the comp gets better
