I tuned in at half time so my view of the game is probably a bit skewed but all I could see were Sharks swarming everywhere and red and black jumpers chasing after them. They were all over them like a cheap suit.

East Freo looked fresh, were running in numbers and all they lacked was the finish up front. As Malaxos said after the game, players were inclined to take on the low percentage option and kick the hero goal instead of looking for free players.

I saw on a number of occasions Sharks players trying to kick for goal under pressure instead of passing to free players ahead of them. There were also players kicking from around the 50 metre line bombing it to near the goal line which made it easy for the defenders to punch it through for a point, whereas if they had lowered their eyes they may have seen a few free players 25 metres out and a short pass would have been effective. No excuses, it was bad footy but a learning experience for the East Freo boys.

They did the WAFL proud because they more than held their own on a unfamiliar ground in front of a hostile crowd after a poor first half. They showed a lot of character that might be very useful in their battle for the top 4. Also Kudos to Stavros for fronting up for the post match interview even though he must have been gutted

Media and AFL website reporting money to be split with the players ... You would think the players would help the club out to stay as a team first?

Mike.

Yep that surpriseds me Mike. You would think the club would come first. Maybe there is more to it and the players hadnt been paid for awhile and it was a bit of catchup otherwise the players could of walked out and No club and no players?
Just a thought of mine

I saw the ABC news from Adelaide last night - they gave good exposure to the game with no stories on Adelaide or Port. I wonder if our ABC even mentioned it?

i thought the better team lost that game tbh.

i watched the second half, and it felt as if east fremantle had 90% of the play. they just couldnt land that last goal, it was remarkable.

$50,000 is still a good pay day for old easts.

i also think Foxtel should start this series in the pre-season. these games can all be played as night games anyway. finishing up with the foxtel final in about May. the way it is now its too close to the proper finals series.

well done to EF anyway, they represented the wafl very well. And i love those jumpers they wear too!
