There is a round robin contest between subi, wp and ep on saturday at seacrest oval sorrento, interesting working with this age group.

looking forward to this and then the carnival proper.

The carnival dates are as follows;

Saturday 19th September - Round Robin Carnival with WP & Subi at Seacrest Oval in Sorrento. Times TBC.

Tuesday 29th September - PT vs EP mandurah
Friday 2nd October EP vs Claremont medibank
Monday 5th October EP vs Subi Medibank
Thursday 8th October EP vs SW Busselton

The carnival went well for all teams with some good football played by all teams. It seems that one team had cut players done whilst the other 2 have not and will do so over the next week.

The canteen made a huge quid and well done to them for making a great effort.

Sadly there we a few concussion incidents with 2 WP boys taken to hospital in ambulances. I hope they are ok but it raised a couple of concerns for me.

In an early game a young lad in head gear was hit quite innocuously but had to be helped from the field, whilst helping the Subi trainer it seems that he had 3 or 4 issues over the passed year. This beggars the question , are we doing the right thing by him and his family.

The other thing was the absolutely deplorable attitude of some parents, when the WP players were waiting for their ambulances comments overheard suggested a complete and despicable attitude. The next game was delayed in the wait and some parents of other boys just wanted the boys moved so their budding champions could play. Thankfully for me none of the comments I heard came from an EP parent, if they were I would have ripped them a new one but it seems that the eastern suburbs have a little more compassion than those from the coastal strip.
