and unbiased abt the colts performances and yesterday saw them beaten by a good team but the playing field was not level.

Souths deserved their win but so did we deserve to win but when the officiating is so blatantly unacceptable you can only wonder what purpose was being played out.

There were times when we would be pinged and not a minutes later the souths would get away with the same tackle, hand pass (called a throw) or outcome in a marking contest. At one stage in the first half the the frees were 11 to 2. I understand that the officiating is similar to the players, learning age etc but standing next to an ex umpire he commented that their positioning, running and interpretation were so poor that it did border on bias.

As I said Souths did win and perhaps they would would have won anyway but we will never know what would have happened if the playing field was level.

No 6 for Souths was outstanding as was the big (huge as in tall) fella at FF.

For us Mr Hille was really good, he is a VG footballer and a great young man. Great to see Mr Gorter play well along with the three debutants.

Last points, good draw to the ressies, fought back from a long way back.

Haiden Schoilthe for Souths in the league played really well and seemed to run pout of legs against the EP sides weight of numbers but he also displayed an outstanding character inthe way he went abt his game, respect was on both sides between the EP players and he!

Grump one of my biggest complaints about the umpires is that a free is paid up one end and not the other. The sad fact is that they are getting worse. You look at some of the umpiring in the reserves and colts and it is mind-numbing.

I understand that it is also the fault of those who come up with the interpretations. How many times per match do you see a player tackled without the ball in a 360 and no holding the man decision is paid? Similarly a player can be tackled with the ball and the tackle may be a 360, or a 720 degree and still no holding the ball.

Ah Sui is number 6 Grump.....been a disappointment in the carnival so got dropped back to the colts.....sounds like a flat track bully against weaker opposition......Loersch is the big FF....poached from Peel this year by SF....leading the colts goal kicking by a fair whack.....couldn't get a WA berth, though is over aged and I think EP ruck Jones got that spot and so far seems to be a wasted choice.....especially since WA can't kick any goals.

Jones' is a ruckman pure and simple as for the non production of goals from the games I have seen and players talked to I would suggest that perhaps this team is a bit of a Moving Pictures team.

The comments from parents and players would suggest that perhaps a bit of teamwork needs to be put inplace.
