Mike, I am excited that we have won 3 games as you would be with Swans, but using the commonly used adage for me iit is about taking week in turn, like this week we play Peel and who knows which Peel will be on the field and it will be our next test.

The thing that I am really excited abt is that the new coach is willing to move players around, reward performances in the two's and that we have a positive feel in the changerooms (which started before we had won a game).

Stay positive and look forward.
Grump I can understand why you are getting excited about 3-0 and thats great and most of your supporters including yourself realise that there are bigger tests to come. I just don't think its necessary to have a crack at other clubs and the decisions they have made in the context of 3 wins against teams that didnt make finals last year. There is a lot of water to go under the bridge this year yet. To be fair its only one person.

You seem to know a lot about other clubs
Fact is Pickering was not sacked, it was a mutual decision as Adams work commitments were becoming more of an issue in terms of his time to be able to devote to coach the team
Check out your assumptions before shooting your mouth off.
Well Mickey my boy, thats an interesting narrative coming out of BONGO VALLEY,and aside from the fact I know someone who spoke to Pickers straight after he was released from a contract where i believe he had 1 more year to serve, why oh why did he apply for the Royals job, when he was allegedly so consumed by work commitments????I think in future Mickey if you want to get on the East Perth site, stick to corresponding with your pen pal.

Couldn’t really care what happens at Claremont or Swans never been real rivals of East Perth. We are going ok with our two best defenders yet to play a game. I think if we can grab around 8 wins this year it’s a positive season.  Looking to recruit a good Key forward soon to make us a proper contender.

I was really just going by the Swans club announcement and what I heard around the traps but you seem to be closer to the source so I will defer to your superior knowledge and get off the East Perth thread, Good luck for the rest of the season.

Don't worry Mr M,i'm not a facistic moderator, anyone can spout any nonsense they like, although sometimes i feel compelled to respond to certain comments that invoke my divergence of opinion. As for my bullishness regarding our start to the season, some here are comparing it to last season when we started brightly, but last seasons start hinged on the dazzling form of Sebit, who provided the focal point that was desperately needed, and the side was 4th with a percentage of 124 when he was inexplicably drafted, and the inevitable slide down the ladder ensued.,and i'll always mantain last years 80 point win and 20 goal performance against a fairly full strength Perth side in last years corresponding ANZAC fixture, was the best brand of football i.d seen all year.                 I will put my hand up and thought we would struggle this year, especially with our ability to score, but i underestimated the ability of our recruits, who have really bolstered the midfield, which has allowed midfielders like Schumacher,Brayshaw and Scott to drift forward and  hit the scoreboard and providing 7 and 8 goal contributions in the last fortnight, and are  creating big headaches for opposition defences, and with Peel recruit Randall ready to be injected into the side after serving his suspension,i fail to see how we miss playing finals

Interesting that Robertson comes in and Taylor North goes out, Robertson will pick up Bell who is a player that has caused us issues in the past. The two debutants have retained their spots which is new concept at the club! Can we win yep but it will be a good contest.

Very unusual to see the Royals perched on the top of the ladder, but the harsh reality of the 22 players named in this saturdays side, only 9 of them are zoned products. We may point to youth development coaching incompetence, which may be applicable in certain cases, i tend to think its the dearth of talent, particularly in our metro zones, especially after witnessing my sons east perth junior council journey which ended in the year 12's last season, and if  i was being honest, i didn't see too many budding east perth league footballers ,and the south west country zone has always been a reliable talent pool, but 4 or 5 league regulars is as much as we can expect from that bush region,                                                                                                                                                          I mentioned this point to a Demons diehard at the Anzac match, and said we were  travelling well due to the recruiting, and no matter how good Germans coaching credentials were,he was pushing the ''proverbial''up hill if they relied on their local zones, and they wouldn.t be on the end of 10 goal hidings with Crowden, North,Schumacher and Brayshaw on their list where i.m sure they have enough room in their points cap to accomodate players of that ilk.As i previously mentioned last season,i noticed that the Claremont side that trounced us on their homedeck  contained only Jai Bolton as an outside recruit, and  a ROYALS or  DEMONS sides comprising of virtually only local content wold be totally uncompetitive. Some bang on ad nauseum about developing with in,but you have to have the sustainable reservoir of talent to do it.

i think you are being a little disingenuous RL.We definitly have more than 9 wafl standard players on our list.We haven't seen our best 22 on the paddick due to injury
In the reserves tomorrow we will see Jacob Msando (45 games),,Kade Ditmar (17 games),Taylor North (39 games).
Out injured are Shane Hille (104 games), and Tom Graham (5 games). All these players are at least best 22  or best 26. and from our junior zones.
I have to admit we have not developed our zones very well and it hurts when Kaden Harbour has decided to play for Souths and playing his third league game and has been joined by Oscar Armstrong this year.Add in the two at the Garlic Munchers.and we have developed a few good footballers.

I think your missing the whole point chadd my friend,Msando and Graham would make the best 22,but the other players you mentioned are neither here nor there.Tell me Chaddy would you make room for recruits Macreedie and Randall who are waiting in the wings???I .am also curious to know on your thoughts on how we would go if we fielded 21 of our 22 strong side with local metro and country zoned players like the Tigers??.
