Do the players respect the coach?

Good summary BC.i enjoyed the game. Good to see blokes get a chance to see what they can do. A bit of optimism at 3/4 time in the huddle. That proved misplaced. Not sure how Kennedy didn't see that tackle coming.

I'm not sure why you'd ask that tuggers as he took the colts to a flag in 2018 and the seniors in 2019 by 16 goals. When you consider the players missing today I concede it's not a pretty result but certainly not the coaches fault. Every cloud has a silver lining as it gave around half a dozen ressies some game time against the best side currently in the WAFL and what they need to go to the next level. One thing I did notice today and last week watching Souths against Claremont on TV is that they a far more aggressive this year. They're quite happy pushing and shoving and trying to exert physical dominance and that's not a criticism as I think it works to an extent but I'm pretty sure they made a conscious decision to impose themselves more on opponents after last year's meek capitulation in the GF.

$ubi will not lose another game in the regular season so someone has to go out of the current top 4.

Disappointing result but not unexpected, Souths were very very good very physical but in most cases well directed, we got monstered in the marking contests by Souths many good talls, Dylan Main carved us up in particular. We started like a German band and it looked like there could be an upset in the making but Souths steadied, closed us down and by early in the 3rd qtr they opened up their game plan and took us apart with fast ball movement, great spread and super accurate goal shooting, after qtr time they kicked 14.3 to our 4.4. credit to Souths also as they lost Higgins at halftime and one other player in the third so fished all over us with just 2 on the bench, so they appear a much fitter stronger team than last year.

Obviously way below full strength with so many key players out and then losing Horse and Heal late in the week, I spoke to both and Heal ruptured a testicle (ouch) at training thursday night, probably 2 weeks, and Horse said it was a groin issue but didnt say how long he will be out. So in this strange abbreviated season the opportunity is there for some youngsters to press their claims for a full '21 season, Surely we need some more height, especially down back, but Breman should come in at CHF just to see what he can do and get some time to get used to the much faster pace of league footy.

Must give a shout out to the colts and ressies for good wins given a number of ressies have been required for league duties and the same for colts up to ressies.

BC mentioned the umpires, they were absolutely terrible, total lack of consistency and continue to be conned by Schoithes ducking tactics. He's a wonderful player with great skills who doesn't need to do this and i'm fearful of a serious head or neck injury if he continues this deplorable tactic. BTW the umps poor performance had little impact on the outcome, they were incompetent both ways, they seemed totally confused re the holding the man/ball and were too quick to penalise a solid bump, it's a bloody contact sport not netball!!

I had previously said the next 4 or 5 games are winnable but after that performance I'm not so sure especially against Perth and the final game v Joondy could see both sides battling for that 4th spot given our current form and injuries, will feel more confident if and when we get a few of these key players back.

Good luck to the boys next week down at WAFC Lovechild stadium, I refuse to go down there and give any money over to that pisstake of a club.

Horsley was a massive loss for Subiaco yesterday. As well as being an elite player he is very much the on field general as he demonstrated at Bassendean last week.

Correct mikeh, I watched most of the ressies and he was at the interchange all game speaking with the boys as they came off giving direction and support, did the same to a lesser extent in the league. A born leader and should be a natural as a senior coach after a bit of an apprenticeship, would be a great colts coach as a start point imho once he hangs up the boots.

What happened to the umpires train harder mantra ?

Did you notice per chance the 29 free kicks Souths received? Subi’s armchair ride continues.

I sorted Subi’s players by total disposal account. Draw a line under player 11 and the rest are pretty much reserves standard players, with maybe 2 exceptions
