I thought that must of been the case looking at their stats and the fact that they were in the best. Good to hear Daye was given a go up forward. All the supporters I've spoken to knew he would look good up the ground so it's great that the coaches have finally freed him up to play his natural game -I'm with you LH I hope they persist and he can make an impact. I think he has been wasted in the backline and we have players who can better fill the roll in defence than him. Keep him forward on a wing or running through the midfield. He's skilled, fast and will be hard for the opposition to match up on. The main reason he may have been playing down back is he can play tall or small and has speed - but wasn't getting to show us his full worth ???

Yeah, to me, playing Daye in the backline is like playing Brennan Stack in the backline. Makes no sense. When Joey won AA 18's selection, he played mid/half forward.

Didn't know that !!! Shit the coaches should have freed him up sooner.
I don't mind forwards having a run down back every now and then to improve their defensive game but he's been there since he started at the club.

Also, why on earth did the West reporter put an approx of 1,500 for the game. It was a bumper crowd helped along by a SDFC junior parade. Had to be close to 3,000. In fact, The Sunday Times approx is listed at 3,000. Was the West reporter at the game?

I wouldnt get carried away with that win Subi fans as i think the West online summed it up perfectly where they said the game was won by the least ordinary side in an extraordinarly ordinary game of footy, the worst game i have ever witnessed in standard on a perfect day, the fact that we almost looked like pinching it after such a deplorable effort (which would have been a travesty) says a lot about both sides at the minute
Beneath the Southern cross i stand, on Bassendean Oval, can in hand, Swan Districts, you Farkin Beauty!

I have to a agree with SD on that game yesterday ..firstly congrats to Subi & their die hard supporters on here like LH, DG, chopper et al on the win as you blokes certainly deserved the 4 points but gee's that was the WORST game of football I have ever seen in 33 years of following the WAFL!
I have never seen so many skill errors in the one game in my life eg dropped chest marks, kicks & handballs missing the target from 10m away & in absolutely perfect conditions for football too.
Unfortunately for most of the 3000 or so at the game who got their first taste of WAFL I hope they dont go away thinking this is the usual standard of WAFL footy as that game was one out of the box! :(

Yeah we know that. The first quarter was the worst some old timers had seen. But we gotta take a win with a young team.

Your Colts looked good LH ..I liked how they always looked to bring the ball back through the corridor coming out of defence ..if only the Swans senior squad looked to do the same! :S
