I've calmed down now although the cat is dead. Gut wrenching to hit the front and then lose after being down for the count after a diabolical third quarter but in all honesty that match was lost through inept goal kicking in that first and second quarters when we squandered golden opportunities. EP brought a different level of pressure to what we have seen in the past three weeks. They split us open a bit on the turnovers across half forward. Still, our destiny remains in our own hands and you have to admire the resilience of this team to get off the mat when all looked lost at three quarter time. Michael Sinclair again. What a performance.

There's a fine line between pleasure and pain! Great to see the intensity and the skills have improved markedly from 2017. 2 seconds and we would have had the 4 points. Plenty of positives despite the obvious disappointment.

I know it wasn't the last contest that resulted in a goal but the push in the back decision against Cody Leggett on Pat McGinnity after the last centre bounce was a disgrace. It was a bloody good tackle, not in the back and we were away. After that the ball was locked in EP's forward line for the last couple of minutes.

Still a great effort but we've got to learn not to waste our opportunities if we want to play in September.

I thought some of the decisions the umpires made went in EP’s favour more than ours. In saying that though the umpires aren’t to blame for our slow ball movement at times and our inability to make the most of our opportunities on the scoreboard. We had more marks, more disposals, more tackles and more I50’s than the opposition today.

This is a massive game that unfortunately we have let slip. I hope it hurts the players as much as it’s hurting me atm and they use that hurt over the next two weeks to come out and put on a clinical and ruthless display against the Tigers.
